Scott said they are new Mysterium Verum beers. He didn't want to say anything else, Real Ale should be releasing details about their own beers.

I wonder if these are the sour variants of Kraken and Empire.

Here's the menu for the Easy Tiger/Real Ale beer dinner from a few weeks ago. Imperium is the 'Wild Lost Gold'. This review says it's Lost Gold aged in Empire barrels but with wild yeast, and part two says Scots Gone Wild is single barrel soured Real Heavy. If Shipwrecked is wild/sour Sisyphus or Kraken, that's one beer I can't wait to get my lips around.

I've always like Real Ale but I've really been excited about what they have been doing the past couple of years. But yes, I can't wait to get out to RealTail to check them out, especially for the currently unknown Shipwrecked.

Shipwrecked is Jameson barrel aged Real Heavy. A lot of whiskey character and barrel with not much base beer flavors. Worth a try.

huh, looks like Real Ale might be following Ranger Creeks lead with a release of limited "project" batches...

I tried Imperium and Shipwrecked today at Freetail. I really enjoyed Imperium. I like Lost Gold a lot, so trying a sour version of it was a real treat. Shipwrecked was okay, but I think I've reached the conclusion that I'm just not a huge fan of Real Heavy, regardless of what they do to it.

still hoping for 750s of kraken one day, hell even 375s would be good maybe even better.

Any idea what barrels they age Highlander in? Shipwrecked is essentially the same thing as Highlander but in Jameson barrels, right? I've never had Highlander, just curious how different this might be.

Highlander uses Oak Wine Barrels previously used for red wine.

Shipwrecked wasn't bad but Imperium was way better. And I'd have to say that the Scots Gone Wild was my favorite Real Ale offering at RealTail 3.

Shipwrecked was way too barrel heavy too me. Just tasted like whiskey with no discernable backbone. Imperium was also good, but I thought it needed more time to get funkier. Empire, Scots, Kraken, WT3F and Devil's Share are my favorite of the MV series so far. I haven't had Highlander since 09 so I need a refresher on that one!

I'm really psyched to try the pale ale with the Herkules hop. I've never had that one.

I have to disagree. I had Imperium from a fresh cask and it was awesome. Same cask, three or four weeks later, and it was thin and the sour overwhelmed any other flavor. Not very good, IMO.
