Wait, you had a cask that was three or four weeks old:grimacing: Cask after three or four days is iffy. Anyone that has the same cask on for three or four weeks should not ever serve cask again.

Yep, was right around three weeks, give or take a day.

Or, I guess it could have been a different cask, but I don't think Real Ale sends them out that regularly. It is certainly within the realm of possibility though. It was at Easy Tiger, which kicks all sorts of ass, and I had it along side Devil's Share, which was long gone when I went back.

I really hope it was a different cask. If it wasn't that is like opening a growler, then finally finishing it 3-4 weeks later. It would be an oxidized, flat, nasty mess. You should never serve one cask for that amount of time.

Real Ale and Easy Tiger seem to have a pretty good relationship as they do a special tapping of their beers every Thursday evening. With that area and the drinking traffic they get I doubt they have any single keg/cask/beer engine on for 3-4 weeks at a time. Probably not the same cask.

Yeah, it wasn't flat or oxidized, so I agree that it isn't likely that it was the same cask. Thanks for the info; glad to know I was probably mistaken. Odd that there was so much cask-to-cask variation, but that's probably a good thing.
