The only reason my girlfriend tolerates the beer cellar, is that it has a consistently stocked selection of Hoegaarden kept at 48F year round.

It's readily available its cheap at $8 / 6pk, its consistent and it's delicious. What else can I get in Michigan at a reasonable price?

I've come across St. Bern Wit for $19 / 4 pk - Couldn't bring myself to do it...
Bells Winter White finishes a little dry and just seems to be missing something.
Blue Moon has a little too much orange peel and coriander.

I'm not stingy but wheat beer isn't something I really see shelling out import/barrel aged prices for.

Any ideas, I (and she) would appreciate it...

There's Allagash White but I think that might be too expensive too? Havent bought it in years, so not sure how much it is.

Do you get Avery White Rascal? My favorite Wit IMO

Careful man. Hoegarden was our gateway beer into the real Belgians. Once you u take that next step, your palate sofistication and checkbook are never the same.

FWIW I think Allagash White is much better than Hoegaarden. It's a $1 or $2 more though and only a 4-pack.

Hitachino White is super good too. Even more expensive.

Namaste is now in 6-packs. No idea about price. $11?

Unibroue Blanch De Chambly is usually on quite a few shelves in Michigan and should run you about 10-12 a 4pk.

The wrong answer if you are looking for something you can get in Michigan.

I found Blanche de Bruxelles for $7/4pk and Ommegang Witte $6/750. Great success. No distro for Allagash out here, I see its very highly rated though. Thanks for the suggestions. Michigan typically gets good Dogfish distro but I've never seen (or heard of) Namaste. EYES WIDE.

Do you get Revolution in Michigan? If so, I'll second the Bottom Up Wit. I think it's $1 or $2 more for a 6 pack than Hoegaarden, and it is definitely worth a try.

AYFKM!? I thought Allagash was as widely available as Sierra Nevada.

If Griffon Claw cans their Wit, give it a try. The head brewer learned to make Celis White from Pierre Celis when it was made at Michigan Brewing Company.

Hitachino Nest White, Unibroue Blanche de Chambly, and Ommegand Witte are all viable options with the aforementioned Allagash the superb alternative.

I don't know the price point, but Wittekerke is worth trying as a another Belgian Wit that is easy to find.
