Is this stuff arriving soon? Retail bottles or draft only?

Out in several places around Boston in draft (I've had it a few times at one of the Tavern in the Square outlets) but no bottles till Feb. Saw something on BeerPulse stating as such recently.

Nice beer from SA, an easy drinker. Already seems to be popular.

Spoke with a rep at a local bar and he mentioned 16oz cans too.

A rep gave me a bottle yesterday to try. Label looked like it was printed on the brewery in house laser printer, kinda cool. Will give it a try sometime this weekend and save the bottle as a keepsake

Had it on draft at Lower Depths this weekend. Pretty refreshing and easy drinking. Great way to end a long day of beer consumption.

I had this on draft at the Pembroke BBC restaurant. I found it hoppy but not overpowering with a nice bitter note on the end. I would definitely buy it if it was in a 6 pack or a mix pack. The tap handle was awesome too. Its definitely something to seek out and try

SA web site shows select stores carrying bottles & numerous on tap locales...Looking forward to trying this one

Solid beer that I enjoyed very much. had a couple at buffalo wild wings on Wednesday night. It was a nice welcomed surprise when the waitress mentioned it when I went to order my winter.

Finally tried very solid. Wish they would make this a MA only brew to keep quality and freshness up and reward craft drinkers in the Sam homeland

An MA only brew, brewed in OH & PA?

No, this is going to be a national release. From what I've experienced with this beer, it's a possible game-changer...a good (borderline very good) IPA released year-round on a big scale.

On draft many places in Boston now. Well received from what I see.

I'm very well aware of Rebel IPA. I just fail to see your correlation between freshness and quality and having it as an MA only release. The beer is brewed in two HUGE breweries out of state. National distribution ensures that multiple batches are brewed regularly ensuring that fresh inventory arrives often. Your logic is flawed.

Huh? I agree with what you say completely. I just commented how I've seen it alot near me in Boston, I know it's elsewhere now & will be brewed on large scale in Cincy & Pit.

Mutual misunderstanding here, I think we're on the same page.

Hopefully it doesn't suffer the same fate as Noble Pils. Once "promoted" from the seasonal line to year-round, it promptly disappeared from most taplists. It seems like usually if a place has enough lines and thoughtfulness to pour a SA beer beyond Boston Lager and the seasonal, the place isn't wanting for good IPAs. The more the merrier, but I don't see how that's a game-changer.

I miss the Noble Pils. I do like the Alpine Spring though.

I've not seen Noble Pils on tap since it went year round. I'm sure it's happened I've just not been there to witness it. The Rebel is on tap at non beer-centric places right now which is a plus but I doubt that will last long.

I almost feel like this is a SA power play to try to displace the handful of GI and Redhook taps popping up in chain restaurants and the like recently.

A fair point. I wonder if it might take some market share from Harpoon IPA, though? At one point in the not too distant past I was quite pleased at the wide availability of Harpoon IPA, and I will still order it in a pinch, but a ubiquitous hoppy, West Coast IPA from Sam would certainly be a welcome change.

Not to be misunderstood. I meant I do not wanna see large scale production and distro impact the quality of a very good beer. I often see the same 4ft to 12ft Sam stacks sitting in small bottle shops and superstores for months well past the best by date. I just feel Rebel is bound for this fate

Its better than Harpoon IPA in my opinion
