Also, you probably can't find it and you'll go broke buying it if you do but MBC Weez is good stuff.

Agree on the Weez, and lament the loss of Wookie Jack. The latter in the 16oz can format would be killer. Seemed like for a while before it was dropped that the only way to get it was in 22oz'ers. On draft, Wookie was a classic.

Had Castle Island TBD for the first time last night and that was pretty good. Missing some of the roasty chocolate richness and Citra hop punch I remember from truck sale Beelzebub.

Will definitely give Norweald Stout a shot. Also thought Revolution's Jukebox Hero was a nice take on the style.

It's too bad that the "black IPA" wave crashed before the "soft, juicy IPA" wave got going. I think many of the same ingredient mixes and brewing techniques that make NE IPA-style beers so drinkable could be applied to hoppy ales with a roasty malt bill with much better results than boring, me-too versions of seven or eight years ago.

Castle Island TBD is a very hoppy stout, one might consider it a cascadian dark ale/black ipa.
