If you have reviewed one recently or know someone that has could you let me know the username if it isn't you so I can read the review?

Also if you've had it recently but don't review I'd love to know what you thought of it on here or via BM.

    Thanks!

The most recent review I could find was from Darkness day 2010 so let me know if I missed something earlier.

Also if that is indeed the most recent review then I'd love for someone who didn't review it but had it recently to chime in or BM me.

I know if at least one bottle, if not two bottles, that were opened at Darkness Day '11. The people I've spoken with have different but positive comments. I'll send them this link to see if they wish to chime-in.

I've had it.. but I didn't write up much of a review. It was good... totally different from other Darkness vintages. I'm not sure how much I can elaborate beyond that

No worries, thanks for the info, did you get a lot of hop presence?

I did a vertical with some friends of '07, '08, and '09 in the late fall of 2010. They were all delicious. The 2008 was everyone's favorite though. It drank a lot smoother and had a little bit of a sweeter taste. Not sure how that 2007 would be now. All I know is that if you have a 2008, don't trade it away. It is too damn good. I remember that the 2009 had a lot of hop presence.

Thanks for the info, the problem with that is that it's been almost two years since that. It would've probably changed a lot by now right since some beers have noticeable change in just 6 months...

Very true. Wish I could've helped you out more.

I was able to have a taste of the '07 at Darkness Day this past fall. Although it was a tasty treat, it didn't quite stand up to the '06 DL I was drinking at the time. It was very good, but it didn't blow me awar. Sadly, that's about as much detail as I can give you, as I was probably 9283482 beers deep by that point...

Thanks, do you remember anything about how hoppy it was?

I remember being surprised by the amount of hops still left in it. Nothing along the lines of '09, but still surprising.

I actually hosted the tasting last Darkness Day. It had a hop presence, was very impressed. Was it hoppy? NO, but you could still taste it. The best way to describe it is that it was a very solid beer, nothing over took the other on the taste buds, but the complexity of it made me happy to try it. Mos Def could taste different nuances as it warmed up. Was very lucky to have had, so if you have the option, you wont be sorry.
