There's a pub in London, a very old one, perhaps 1664, where they serve a German lager from tap. If my memory serves the tap has a slow clad mountain inside a glass cube.

    It was very good.

recognize it? I'd love to know the name but can't remember.

    Enjoy,

1664? Are you sure you are not thinking of Kronenbourg

Not too many London pubs from that era, many would have been destroyed in the Great Fire of London. The first to come to mine would be Ye Old Cheshire Cheese on Fleet Street. They used to have a brand called Alpine Lager. It did feature a snow clad mountain, but with a Bavarian gentleman in the foreground and I believe the font was always a box shape. If that was it, then it is no longer brewed by Sam Smiths, as the current owner of the brewery is a bit of a "Billy no mates" who allegedly fell out with the German brewery that owns the brand.

Can you remember what part of London you may ave been in, north or south of the river?

Edit: Was this the beer? Looks like it has been replaced by a 2.8% version.
