Recommend a not-bitter porter

    Fuller's London Porter is nice and smooth, might not be as hefty as you're looking for, though.

    Not sure where you're at in PA but the Black Butte is readily attainable anywhere around PGH. I've never actually tried it but it seems like people like it. I don't usually see the Victory at Sea around here but I'd really like some...

    Deschutes Black Butte all day long - a classic, great porter. Also, Anchor Porter is pretty damn good too. Those are 2 easily accessible porters that aim to please.

    I don't think it's available in Pennsylvania yet, but if you are ever in Ohio, I would highly recommend she try Rivertown Roebling, which is a Vanilla Espresso Imperial Robust Porter. It's very sweet and very flavorful!

    If you can find any sitting around still, Dan'l Webster is excellent (CCB/Hoppin Frog collab). Also, Mogli is like chocolate sauce.

    Of course neither of these are regular brews. So is have to say Puppy's Breath from CCB. But again Florida only.

    I think Evil Twin's Lil' B is a bit sweet, with lots of chocolate flavor. Pretty much a stout, but the label says porter.

    Revolution's Eugene is very nice, and one of my wife's very favorite beers. It is one of my favorite easily accessible porters, though I don't know how far East it reaches. I believe I underrated it on BA but haven't revisited my review.

    Black Boss Porter -- Sweet, smooth, delicious, and very affordable for a 9.4% beer.

    You mention Edmund Fitzgerald but I think that one is fairly happy for a porter.

    If you want a sweeter not too bitter porter the first one that comes to mind is Boulder Shake

    Have you guys ever had Baltic Thunder? Night and day compared with Black Butte(which is my jam).

    I can't add anything past that other than give Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout a try with the old lady, comparable to Baltic Thunder.

    She does like Shake from Boulder, and Smuttynose Baltic Porter. Ive got 4 or 5 suggestions here that i can pick up easily. Hopefully thunder come back for fall/winter and I can fill some growlers.
