My wife wants me to send a bomber to her friends in OK. When I asked her what they like, the only clue I got was "they prefer hops over malt / bolder the better, both hazy and crisp, sours are better than sweets". Unfortunately, the only beers I drink are sweet, malty, porters and stouts, I love the smell of hops, but not the taste, so nothing I have saved seems suitable and I am not sure what to get. Last night I picked up a Beattitude Mosaic Dry-Hopped tart saison, but then today I got the bright idea to post here and see if someone knew of anything better than that. I would like to get something nice, but nothing so rare that I can't pick one up in the LA or OC areas this weekend (I don't mind driving some), better if it was something not distributed in OK too. What do you think? Any help appreciated.
Beachwood IPAs fit the bill, and their labels are very classy. You can find Citraholic quite readily at bottle shops right now. The Long Beach location of Beachwood has bottles of Citraholic, Amalgamator, and The Independent; would make a nice 3-pack.
Honestly, I'd swap out the Beatitude for a Monkish Funk Juggling or potentially one of Blendery's "Lambic inspired" wild ales depending on what might be available.
