Hey Guys, recently moved to Corvallis and was wondering what would be some most have fall beers available in the Corvallis area. I prefer to drink lagers in the fall but would love to be pointed in any direction.

Agreed. Of course, it's also pumpkin and Oktoberfest season as well, so I would look for those as well. I confess I'm not a huge fan of Elysian stuff, but for some reason, they really seem to have a knack for making well crafted, fun to drink pumpkn beers.

You say you're a lager guy, and there should be any number of Oktoberfest, marzen (or marzen-like) offerings available on the market right now. Widmer's OKTO has always been pretty tasty in the past, so I would recommend it next time you're at the store.

Heater-Allen makes very good Lagers, and I'd be surprised if they don't make an Ofest brew.

They do. It's called Bobtoberfest, and it's delicious.

Edit: Session Fest and Ninkasi Oktoberfest are both tasty, seasonally appropriate offerings as well.

How about the Altbier from Occidental? A better than average brew in an interesting German style. In cans.

Seconded on bobtoberfest (seasonal) and altbier (year round). Can't wait for No-Li Winter Warmer.

Second the no-li. That winter warmer was so good last year.

I had it last night and it has definitely changed from last year. It looked like a lighter malt bill and it was a little more bitter. The bartender said that it had changed, but was not exactly sure what the change was. Still a great beer.

Definitely want to second the recommendations for Bobtoberfest and the Occidental Altbier. And of course fresh hop stuff... these are primarily IPAs but there seems to be a number of other styles being brewed with fresh hops this year (check out that thread, someone made a spreadhseet with all of them)

Not sure if this is a seasonal thing per se, but I am a fan of Black/Rye IPAs or CDAs during the fall. If you see Barley Brown's Turmoil or Chaos, or the Boneyard Armored Fist (these have been popping up in Portland recently), you'd be crazy not to try them
