Every time I go into a bottle shop, I feel like I'm playing Russian Roulette, and I've learned to take reviews on this site with a grain of salt. What are some solid, inexpensive and widely available beers (any style) that you would recommend? As far as preferences go I will say that I'll drink most anything, but for the most part I have not found many high alc beers that I like (I find most of them too sweet). Beers like DFH90, Hobgoblin, and Alba Scots Pine were sugary booze bombs in my opinion, if that is anything to go on.

I like SN pale ale, new Belgium Fat Tire, many of the bells and founders products. Right now I'm drinking the expedition stout. As long as I can get that it's hard not to buy it.

This list is the best of the widely reviewed beer, it looks like rarity has crept into this list a little as well. But, you should be able to easily get most of these beers.

Why does all of it have to be Imperial IPA's/Stouts?

LAGUNITAS--just about everything they make is a good representative of the style, comes in 6 packs (or a couple bomber only offerings) and are affordable.

I second the Sierra Nevada. It's an easy go-to.

Sierra Nevada and New Belgium are solid. My favorite New Belgium offering is 1554. Sam Adams Octoberfest is also pretty choice for a widely available beer.

Pick up a sampler 12-pack of Sam Adams. They are basic beers that will quench your thirst and keep the budget in check. The Winter Sampler is kind of atypical with specialty beers in it so you may want to pass on that one (although it is also full of goodness), but other Sam packs are well worth having enjoyable beers at a reasonable price.

Saranac makes a wide variety of good beers and is probably the overall best value, they're usually just slightly less expensive than Sam Adams or Sierra Nevada. Not sure if you can get it in Florida, though.

I second this. Laugunitas is my all around favorite (stresses (widely available)) brewery.

Founders All Day IPA, 4.7% ABV, little or no malt sweetness, plenty of citrusy hops.
