    Hi all,

I'm headed to a bachelor party next month in Manhattan Beach, CA. Looks like we're getting a beach house, but I've been tasked with finding some cool bars to head to.

Anyone have any possible suggestions remotely close to the area? No clubbing, and I guess nothing too much of a dive (although that would be fine with me...).

Any help is appreciated, thanks much.

Select Beer Store in redondo beach. Wes, the owner, is an awesome dude.

Depending on where you are in Manhattan, Beachwood in Long Beach is almost 20 miles away. Not saying it isn't worth it because it is. But just something to consider.

Unless your bachelor party group is all hardcore beer geeks, do not take them to Beachwood BBQ.
A group of guys on a bachelor party with a beach house in Manhattan beach are not gonna be very happy when you pile them into a car to drive them 30+ minutes away and you wind up at a BBQ restaurant.

Yeah, echoing some of the recent comments above, as great as Beachwood is (and it is great), it could be a trek for you guys and also may not fit the vibe you're looking for.

Over near Manhattan, some other recommendations: Simmzy's (small, but good beer) and BrewCo are options, and there are a ton of bars right in that area too (some with better beer recommendations than others). Can also head to El Segundo Brewing Co. in El Segundo and/or Rock & Brews right across the street from there.

there will be more girls in Manhattan Beach than at Beachwood

    just saying

there will be a lot of volleyball bros and db's, but it is not a bad place for a vacation. beautiful beach (except for great whites). my girlfriend's parents live there so we go sometimes.

if you are in a bachelor party type crowd you should head down to the bars in Redondo Beach. they're all in one area on the beach.. not gonna find a lot of craft, but will be a lot of girls in bikinis and whatnot

should stop in at The Brewery At Abigaile. some decent brews there.

if your friends are into craft i would strongly recommend hiring a car (or look into beer tours they do) and do a tour of the Torrance breweries - Monkish, Smog City, Strand. and yeah, Beachwood is a must stop, if your friends are into beer and up for a trek

i think this is the one i saw last time i was visiting those places: http://www.lacraftbeertours.com . seems like a pretty good idea if you have a bigger group

Father's Office is not very bachelor party conducive, but a great beer bar to check out in Santa Monica. i guess it depends on what your friends are into / how old you guys are / etc... a bunch of 20 year old dudes might not be into the same things that say 40 year old dudes are (though i'm sure there's some crossover appeal - i.e., sleezy strip bars)

This is what I thought of. Assuming none of you want to drive, it's in Redondo Beach and is one of the old school craft beer bars that was around long a while. http://www.yelp.com/biz/najas-place-redondo-beach

If you are not necessarily looking for craft beer, but a party spot head over to the Hermosa Beach Pier area. Lots of bars, restaurants there.

The Hermosa pier would probably be really good for a bachelor party, but man have I recently been avoiding it. It definitely has that party atmosphere though

Sticking in Manhattan might be fine during the day, and for dinner (I enjoy Strand House). Bounce around from there - Uber to Redondo or Hermosa.

Naja's is good, but a bit of a dive. Still worth going to IMO

Forget the bars. Find a store and buy two cases of Lost Abbey Angel's Share instead (older BA's will get the reference).

Just kidding! Sophie's Place in Redondo Beach is pretty cool. Naja's Place is great for beer (although a bit divey).

Has anyone told you about Beachwood?

If you are into booze, I like the cocktails at Seven Grand in Downtown LA.
