My girlfriend will be going from Panama City to Athens, Ga around March 15th. Looking for recommendations along the way for food, drafts, and bottle shops.

Depending how you go there is a good brewery in Dothan, Folklore Brewing. Thomasville, GA has some good places to eat with good taps. I know there is a new brewery near the AL/GA state line called Omaha Brewing but can't speak to if it is good or bad.

To add to comments on Omaha Brewing. Had their Hannahatchee Creek IPA at a beer fest last year, enjoyed it. Haven't had any of their other stuff nor have I been to the brewery.

Omaha is out in the middle of literally.... no where.

Their beer isn't bad though, young brewery who has done well growing up.

I'll have to check them out next time I'm up that way. Their hours didn't work for me but looks like they added more days since I last looked.

If she passes through Tallahassee on I-10, she should stop at Proof Brewing first and foremost. It is about a 20 minute drive once you get off the interstate. Proof pretty much rules. If she comes through on the weekend she should also visit Deep Brewing, which is only about 7 minutes off the interstate. The best bottle shop in town, and maybe in the entire Florida panhandle is the Quick N Save convenience store on Tennessee Street just east of downtown. Do not be put off that it is just a little gas station. The owner is a beer nut and stocks all kinds of crazy beer.

Food in Tallahassee - La Tiendita for authentic Mexican, Taco Republik or El Cocinero for modern tacos, Fat Noodle, Izzy or Sakura for sushi, Kool Beanz, Liberty for goodness, Momos for pizza and draft list. If she cuts up 319 to get to I-75 she can stop at Jonahs or Liams in Thomasville.

From Indiana too. In Venice, FL now. Just got here today. Hit up a local bottle shop. Purchased a 6 pack of Uinta Hop Nosh. Score! This stuff is great. Any other beers I should target? I typically do Jai Alai and maybe a Terrapin. Have a buddy in NC and hear how good Wicked Weed is. Didn't see that. Do they distribute here? Saw a bomber of Funky Buddha - Last Snow. Looking for good stuff I can't get in Indy. Open to just about all styles.

Just looked up Last Snow. 98-World Class? Sounds like I should probably go back.

In Athens, hit up Creature Comforts, Trappeze Pub ( a block away from CC). Both are downtown. Catch22 is also a great choice for food and drink, I actually like it better than trappeze for both food and beer selection. It's located on the westside of Athens. For bottle shops go to Five Points Bottle, there two locations: westside & 5pts. I prefer the westside, but they are both great. Other good brewery choices are Terrapin and Southern Brewing Co. Catch22 is on taphunter, so you can look at the draft list.
