I'm traveling to NYC for about 5 days in March. First time there. Staying around 48th and Lexington.

Is there any places that I absolutely need to visit? I've looked into the Blind Tiger and Gramercy to drink a little, but I'd like some more places to put on my list.

As far as bottle shops go, I'd love to do some shopping there and fill my suitcase up with precious bottles so any recommendations on shops would be greatly appreciated as well. I've heard Bierkraft is good, but the prices are a little high.

    Thanks.

For American Craft try The Pony Bar - 2 locations one on 44th and 10th, one on 75th and 1st. ABC Beer Co is pretty good also down on the lower east side. In mdtown you have Rattle n Hum on 33rd btwn Madison/5th.
For German Beerhall - Hofbrauhaus on 45th and 3rd, Loreley on Rivington and Zum Schneider on Ave C. For locally brewed try Houston Hall on W.Houston and Varick or Gastropub 508.

If you make it to the outer boroughs:

    ASTORIA:
SingleCut Brewery just opened recently and has hours,
