I am looking for advice on bars and/or restaurants with good tap lists in the St. Charles, IL area. I won't have a car but can use taxi/uber to get around. Thanks in advance.
Tap House Grill. A bit west of town there's also lots of downtown bars with mediocre selections of craft
In St. Charles, Tap House Grill is good for bar food and has 40 tap handles, usually something good on tap. For just a bar, serves no food but has great beers and music is The House Pub in downtown St. Charles. In Geneva 5 miles south of St. Charles, you have The Geneva Ale House, good food, 12 taps, and good bottle list. Also in Geneva, Noble House, 30 taps, and good food. A little farther down in Batavia, there is the Gammon Coach House. In Geneva there is also a brewery, Penrose, which has very good beer at its tasting room.
Go to geneva. Go to Niche or The House pub. House pub will have some nice live music. Niche has a fantastic bottle selection. Check out beermenus.com. It has a bars near me option that shows what people are pouring.
Yeah, definitely hit Penrose if you'll be in that area, and Ubering between places. That's the main one I can think of in that area and only one I've tried so far, though I suspect there are other nearby bars that perhaps have a respectable(maybe a little more limited?) craft selection. Always wondered about Stockholm's and Geneva Ale House, but never quite made it to either of those places.
