My brother is going up to Providence from NY soon. I was wondering if there were any great craft beer stores up there? I would check on BeerMenu and make a list for him to grab stuff. Any chance there is Jack's Abby or Ghadi Bot up there (as we don't get that here)?
Should be some jack's abby around, but ghandi could be tougher. nikki's is my go to in providence, but i know i've seen other names floated so perhaps someone else can chime in. I'd definitely recommend looking into getting some foolproof. they're new in the area and everything they've put out is at least relatively solid- always nice to get a taste of something new and decent. nikki's has a good import selection and a well-stocked locals area as well.
I don't believe we get NEBCO in Rhode Island but could be wrong. If you want a store around Downcity, I recommend Eno on Westminster Street. Not a huge stock (a majority of the store is wine), but they pick out some great craft beer and maximize the space. If you want fresh Jack's Abby I'd recommend Yankee Spirits or Gasbarro's in nearby Attleboro, Mass.
Jacks Abby is only in MA as far as i was told, but you can get to north attleboro from providence in less than 15 mintues. And we get NEBCO in RI but it can be hard to find sometimes.
Hit Yankee Spirits in Attleboro for some Jack's Abby, among other things. Nikki's is the place to go in Providence. Wines & More in Cranston has a large selection, but it is somewhat on the pricier side.
Hmmm... Nikki's don't seem to have a BeerMenus page. My brother doesn't know beer. Any recommendations on what they could/should (that I can't get in NY) have that I should list for him? Or another store that does have BeerMenus?
Sorry, don't know of any stores that have beer menus. What styles do you like? I would definitely recommend the Jack's Abby beers, but he will need to cross the border into MA to get them. From RI, Grey Sail Flying Jenny is a great APA. The Cisco sours are still kicking around as well. I'm not sure there is much in RI that you can't get in NY.
If you go to Seekonk or Attleboro, you should be able to get Jack's fairly easily. NEBCO comes to RI sometimes but it's irregular at best
Thanks, I guess I'll do my own New England trip sometime and hit MA and stuff. Just wanted to check in case there was anything worthy to get from RI.
