Thanksgiving weekend. More or less people in town?

 

I will be visiting from Oklahoma...so I am very pumped about this. Have never been to a release before at the Funkatorium. Any idea of what time to arrive to make sure I get some or will it more depend on when they release more details?

 

All depends on the details. Normally they do tickets which would be fantastic, but maybe they aren't expecting a mad rush so they will just put in the shop with the limit like they do with the Morte series.

Either way I am super pumped and will totally be trying to get some of this.

As mentioned above it all depends. They may do Brown Paper Tickets or have people line up. All the usual big releases are done with BPT but those are much higher bottle
Counts. Getting to WW at 5ish AM in late November will not be super fun so I'm hoping for online.

240 allotments. 120 cases total. 60 for WW and 60 for JK. Jk will end up doing one per person I bet. That's the normal for any of this releases that under a thousand bottles.

I am excited for this beer. Atrial has been on my want list for a long time and it always eludes me. Everyone says it's fantastic. I love Red Angel. So blend them together and add more raspberries, I'm there.

Whats the weather like in Asheville around Thanksgiving?

 

Chilly. Usually frosty in the morning, but I dont expect any snow. I might come up the night before, post-Thankgiving beer share perhaps?

 

I'm trying to talk the wife into leaving on Friday. If I can get her onboard I'm down for a share. I'll have a friend or two with me.

 

Talked to my buddy who works there. They have 60 cases. They will sale at least 50 of those. So 200 allotments minimum.

 

I'm planning on getting there 5-6 am.

 

Damn. So, 60 cases x 12btls = 720 / 3pp = 240 allotments. And no tickets. Ugh. High likelihood of freezing your ass off a couple hours and come up empty.

 

Anyone driving from Atlanta for this?

 

Whenever there is a line at a release, at least in the past, they hand out numbered wrist bands which guarantee whomever has one at least a chance at the limit. If you don't get a band, then yes, better hope that some of the folks a head of you don't purchase the full 3.

 

What time do they usually hand out wristbands?

 

They will wristband at 10 (I think).

 

The last Wicked Weed release I was at was for 2015 Golden Angel. So take this with a grain of salt. For that the release was at noon. I got there at 10am and got a wristband. According to Instagram they are releasing the bottles at 10am so if they do hand out wristbands I would guess at least by 8am.

 

They don't even open till 12, so I assume 10am will be wrist bands. Come back at 12 to buy your bottles.
