And I... I was driving back from Florida... Dreaming that I would rather have been in line at 4 am at WW.

Long time waiting, but I was finally able to do the side by side tasting. Blinded, with 12 people participating with the following beers:
    • Red Atrial
    • Atrial ('16)
    • Framboise Morte
    • Red Angel ('16)
    • Red Angel ('15)
Each beer was ranked from best to worst place. First place was awarded 5 points, second 4 points, etc. The total highest score a beer could achieve would be 60 points.

From the chart, the blinded tasters far preferred Red Atrial or just this years Atrial. Red Angel '15 has not seem to held up as well as the rest of the beers.

I hope to do more of these sorts of tastings in the future, as its fun to see that while everyone's 'tastes' are different, they really arent if you start controlling the variables.

That's exciting. I've got the pieces you have listed plus 15 Atrial. I need to do this soon. I'll prob host a tasting in my new house once I get moved in March.

This post has me itching to open one though.

When I had Red Atrial on tap, I was almost disappointed, it didn't really blow me away, but when having it blind among a bunch of the same DNA beers, it was amazing how good it is. And the color was unreal. You could almost point it out just by how much brighter Red Atrial was compared to the other beers, it was like a neon red hue.

I really enjoy these sorts of tastings, they throw hype, lines, and any BS out the window and let us focus on what we like best, amazing beer.

Just great. Way to make me want to give Walt "the stare" again when I see him, for releasing this beer while I'm away on vacation.

With Red Angel '15 only have half the fruit of '16, and I'm assuming Red Atrial and Atrial being more on par with Red Angel '16 in terms of fruit, I wonder how much that had to do with it? Don't remember the fruit levels on Framboos Morte, but its a fruit bomb as well.
