I'll be in this area in the next couple of weeks with my kids for part of our camping trip. We always start with a night in Redding and will be heading up to Lava Beds then Lassen before finally coming back down the 395 to Sourhern CA. Any spots in Redding with good food and taplists or beer worth picking up for the trip? Any cool spots in the other areas?
Redding beer week kicks off I believe August 19th so you might hit that and be all taken care of. As far as tap room Fall River has solid beers, plus they just started canning their Hexagina ipa its delicious.
I used to take monthly trips to Redding and I love their Hexagenia IPA. Their DIPA is pretty good too. Alehouse Pub always has a good selection as far as a craft beer bar.
Which way you heading to Lava Beds? If you take 5 There's Dunsmuir Brewery Works (OK beer but funky with great pulled pork) in Dunsmuir and Mt Shasta Brewing in Weed.
It looks like I'm staying real close to Fall River so I'll for sure make a stop in there. Thanks for the tip. Google maps is pointing me to go 5-97-161-Volcanic Highway. Is that the best route?
