I don't think this is a good solution. Assuming he is scamming and he recieved all 5 bottles intact, he could just ship back 3 of them on OP's dime, and then have 2 free beers at absolutely no cost to him.

The key element to this whole situation is pictures/proof of the broken shipment.

I have no clue why someone starts a thread like this, and then says "I'm going to wait a week and see if it works out."

Maybe you should have waited the week to start this thread, too.....

Wow it's shocking how quickly the tone of these things change. The OP had some doubt about his situation, admitted he handled it badly in his first response to the other trader, and was looking for some guidance from other experienced traders. He didn't want to call the guy out and make a bad situation potentially worse and now he's taking crap for it even though inbetween his first post and now further communication was recieved from the other trader that might indicate hope. Let's cut the guy some slack as he tries to navigate and learn from this situation and see where this goes.

unserstood, But if it is indeed a Scam the guy will balk at sending the remaining bottles back. If he does not send them back then he is in fact a bad trader.

Wish OP would out the guy. No matter what this is shady on the receivers end.

The lack of pictures requested, the lack of outing, the lack of anything that resembles what I would think is pretty standard behavior in these situations... all pretty strange. I have received broken bottles a few times, and literally the first thing I did was take several pictures of the box and send to the sender.

@BrownAleMale why did you not ask for pictures of the broken bottles? That's literally the most basic, straightforward thing that should have happened here. If someone tells me bottles broke without a picture? You're gonna need to send me a picture, holmes.

If you're referencing my response, I'm not giving him crap for anything, I'm offering the guidance he's seeking. Its probably best to not start a thread until all other avenues have been exhausted, which clearly wasn't the case here, or if you're going to do so, make sure to tag the other party so they can share their perspective on the situation.

@KSOZE @jrnyc the OP might be embarrassed about how he jumped to conclusions & was initially accusatory but I don't think that's why he hasn't tagged the other trader. IF that was the case he didn't even need to admit that he'd started off badly in his handling of the matter.

I think it's likely he's being mildly protective of the other party. The OP choose to come here, share info & seek advice. His trading partner didn't make that choice & I can understand that the OP might be reluctant to force public disclosure & discussion on him.

I think tagging him is a good idea. These things happen even with the best packing & most careful handling. Many of us have learned a great deal in such threads. People who are exemplary traders in normal circumstances might stumble when things unexpectedly go awry.

I had a bottle break from my trading partner out in Texas this week. First thing I did was take pictures and send them to him. First thing he did was offer to replace it, and if not with the exact beer, something of similar quality. No frustrations or accusations. This is how it should work.

I did request, and he has yet to provide the pictures, he just keeps saying he has proof.

For the love of God, please just share his name here. He is totally stringing you along. If he had proof, you'd have seen it by now.

Ok, he was to ship today. Since he hasn't sent me any info, I'm assuming he is not planning on shipping. I didn't out him immediately because I felt like I made a mistake in my initial response to him and thought outing him to quickly would be piling on the bad decision of my original response to him. @Pizzapie can come here and explain what's going on because he seems to be dodging me and missed shipping for a 2nd time or so it appears.

I may be wrong, but when I click on his profile and I don't see any trading experience doesn't that mean that they haven't agreed to the trading guidelines/rules/regulations right?

@BrownAleMale - it looks like your trade partner hasn't verified or re-accepted the new trade rules from the updates last week. Honestly, at this stage if you don't get a shipping number from them in the next 12 hours I would put in negative feedback and create a bad trader thread.

Regardless of if there are broken bottles or not, they were supposed to ship over a week ago? More right? Your package got to them before they even shipped and they haven't shipped their box or done all the normal things one would expect with broken bottles.

Totally your call, but if they aren't meeting expectations and you have given them all this time...

It likely means he hasn't done the verification & trading re-agreement required after the verification. That's only been in effect the last week or so.

Ok, yeah he had 4 trades. 2 were with people that had a ton of trades and none were IP if recall, so while I was a bit worried, I went ahead and made the trade. Looks like I may have gotten bitten.

The original ship date was the 20th. Then he said he was going to send the bottles on the 24th but never gave a ship date. The next day I asked for a ship date and he told me today and has yet to get a hold of me today.

It's funny how you throw his name out to the public, tag him a time or two and the his tune changes almost instantly. Definitely a DNT list candidate.
