My girlfriend and I will be in Venice/Redondo area this Saturday, and I'm wondering if any BAs could help me out with recommendations for a nice, affordable place to stay for the night. Just lookin for a nice hotel that isn't any more than $150 a night. I think we will be ending our night at Naja's Place. Any recommendations of hotels or places I should hit up while I'm there? Thank you, and Cheers!
Possibly could stay in Santa Monica too. I guess it depends on the recommendations. Basically looking for a GREAT beer bar to end the night with and a good hotel nearby. Thank you!
The Custom Hotel in Westchester is pretty nice and runs about $100. However if you want to end at Naja's you might want to get closer to Redondo.
There's a Holiday Inn Express on Pacific Coast Highway in Hermosa Beach about 1 mile from Naja's place. That will likely be cheaper than the Crowne Plaza or Portofino, but both of those hotels are stumbling distance from Naja's. Also, Venice and Santa Monica are a good 30-45 minute drive from Naja's Place, so don't expect to drive back to a hotel in either of those places after visiting Naja's.
I understand that I could easily do that... but the reason I look for hotels on BA is obviously because I want recommendations for places that I could stop by that are beer related.
Ramada Limited Redondo Beach. According to Kayak.com, $94/night this weekend. Not stumbling distance from Najas, less than a mile though, prob 15 min walk.
Shit! Where were you 8 hours ago??? Laugh. JK. I already booked a room at Portofino. A lot more than I was planning on spending for just one night in a room I probably won't even remember. $250 for the night for crying out loud! They only had Deluxe rooms left though. Oh well...it should be a fun night. So who wants to meet at Naja's??? I'm down to share some pints with some fellow BAs. Also willing to throw in on some tasty bottles if they have any really good ones available. Cheers! ---Ryan
Ryan, If you get a chance, on Venice beach board walk they have Venice Ale house. Their house IPA, is awesome. They don't do bottles or growlers, but if you charm the staff, they will give you some to go in other safe containers.
Just got back about an hour ago. The place was a bitch to find...I don't even wanna go through the long story. But in a nutshell, once we finally got to Naja's, the bartender gave us a walking route that made me pissed off at myself for the way I tried to get there in the first place. You suck Google Maps...you really do. Anyways, I was kinda shocked as to how dead the pier was for a Saturday night. I guess I just expected it to be "more lively". We had some great beers at Naja's though. 2007 Bigfoot on draft! And the bartender was very helpful and recommended a very tasty grape sour from the bottle. The walk home was shockingly WAY easier than the trip there. @sind310 I need to get my charm on before I head there tomorrow.
I wish I could tell you what it was... Couldn't really pronounce the name. It had Vigneronne in the name and it was imported by Shelton Bros. Also, it had a swing top...never had a sour with a swing top before. It was tasty though.
