I don’t get your point. I’ve been to their brewery and have had some of their stuff and enjoyed it. I also find what they’re doing really interesting and different. I’d like to buy more of their stuff, but like some others, I do find many of their bottles to sadly be too expensive for me to justify buying. Why is that strange to comment on in their forum? I find it strange that you think it’s strange.

Oh and I’m not “unable” to purchase their beer.

I don't think I ever sought validation for my supposed inability to buy this beer. I certainly could afford it if I desired it enough. However, as I've explained in this thread, many people I know in person, have also stopped. If conversations about pricing are unfamiliar to you, I implore to visit any number of threads on this site that do the same.

I do apologize for treating this thread as a place to discuss beer as the tonality of your post indicates it is not.

    It is a magnum so it is a $32 1.5 L.

Sorry my friend but Tender Buttons was $32 for 750 mL. I think that’s what he OP of this discussion was referring to.

Very good! They're producing some amazing stuff, and a style that's hard to find in the US

Started shaky but by line five, you got the point.

Maybe I should’ve written that I don’t understand WHY you have a problem with a discussion about the price of the product. Hardly the only brewery thread where price is discussed.

Stopped by Sunday for the first time.

I did not expect it to be in a warehouse in an industrial park at all. Not sure if it was my perception because of the type of beer they make or the area of Jersey but that was odd to me.

The beer was all very good. We split 4 different beers, and for the style they were all good with some being exceptional. The Jung-Nelson was the only loser IMO that we tried.

Bottle pricing albeit was expensive per ounce this isn't the type of brewery i can see myself frequenting overly often; so if you dont go crazy with to go you can not spend a ton.

It is exciting to see where the beers evolve too and i will absolutly make the trip out again.

Spontaneously fermented beer is probably the most expensive and slowest way to make beer. You need to do all the work a year to multiple years in advance and hope that the product yields profits years down the line. They also use real fruit which is more costly and time consuming than the puree most breweries use. Tender Buttons was worth every penny and is probably my favorite american beer I had this year. If you want to compare prices I'm looking at the latest SPON release from Jester king and it looks like they charged $36 for the SPON grapefruit 750 and $25 for the SPON blueberry and pitaya 375 so it's not like these prices are not comparable to other aged spontaneously fermented beers in america. Sorry you can't make a real spontaneous barrel aged sour for the same price as a kettle sour.

Literally nobody was claiming their prices are “unfair” or “not comparable” to places doing similar things. We all know what they’re doing is time consuming and expensive from their end. Some people, myself included, simply made comments that some of their releases were too expensive to pull the trigger. Just an observation and a personal decision. Just recently I was there, had a few glasses and bought a couple things that were on the lower end of their pricing. People keep jumping in here to defend their pricing when nobody is claiming their pricing is “wrong” in the first place!

That looks good but for 32 bucks you could buy an incredible bottle of wine. Farmhouse beer shouldn't cost that much, the farmers ain't got that kind of money.
