I got lucky...was scanning the beer distributor's website as they put it up, called to see if it was real, and picked it up over my lunch break lol. I underestimated the satisfaction of being able to pour myself 6-8 oz of bourbon county on any given night

Pennsylvania has some strange beer laws that I cant comprehend, and not cheap...its only a sixtel so it has about 42 (16oz) pours, but that was 250ish I think. Still a great deal when compared to the case equivalent

@drtth - yeah let me just grab some confidential documentation and I'll get back to you....

let's see, if you knowingly pull coffee, since it was infected, wouldn't the prudent thing to do be double/triple checking all of your product to make sure it didn't spread? given it clearly did, and clearly then didn't. they hype the crap out of the release date, have a million events leading up to it, and have all the reason in the world to take the risk and ship out infected product.

doesn't the fact that they haven't admitted to it being "infected", but saying that it "developed off flavors" say enough?

they are a huge corporation and know no one is going to take the time to take them to court, cause none of us have the resources/time to pool together and file a class action lawsuit

    Insufficient.

First of all there is more than one thing that can be or result in off flavors that are not caused by an infection. Infection is confirmed by the presence of bacteria, etc. in laboratory testing and off flavors are confirmed by human taste testing. Several breweries with barrel aging program and a few without have had the experience of shipping beer that passes both sets of test with the problems only showing up later. The fact that it shows up later is an inherent risk of barrel aging programs (and very rarely) in other beers as well, regardless of who the brewer is or who owns them. It has happened to others and it will happen again in the future. So it is absolutely not clear they didn't triple check before shipping.

As for admitting it was infected, until laboratory testing by you and or others demonstrates the presence of an infection, off flavors is exactly the term that should be used since the presence of an infection is not the only thing that can cause a problem.

GI is not a large corporation they are a wholly owned subsidiary of a large corporation. In large numbers of cases that makes a real difference in how things are handled, managed and budgeted. The odds are if you are so aggrieved by GI's product and behavior you could quite easily find a lawyer who would handle your complaint on the basis of a percentage share of the settlement and with no deposit up front. However, be advised that legal counsel might well refuse to handle your case. But not do so out of fear of suing a large corporatin since it has been done before, is being done now, and will be done in the future.

So all your claims still amount to hot air and puffery with no clear, unambiguous evidence to support them.

    Enjoy your evening.

This isn't a court of law. Nobody is trying to convict GI of anything. No, nobody has to have laboratory documentation to prove that GI beers are infected. That's idiotic. I trust experienced people's judgment in such matters. I myself can identify infection vs other off flavors, just like I can identify when somebody is being an insufferable turd on the internet.

Update... My Prop 15 is indeed infected. Remember the taste of infected barleywine? imagine that, but then someone tried covering up the gross with maple syrup. this is a joke, man.

Well thats cool I'm glad there are breweries that arent afraid to do this. Not that I'm against offering refunds or anything but I think we both know since you know who owns GI no matter what they do its exponentially worse at least among folks like us.
