I did not. I only had two bottles in the covered dates, so getting proof of delivery seemed like overkill.

Ahh, makes sense. I was sitting on about 25 bottles of 11/4 so I documented everything like I was Ken freakin' Burns.

I sent my refund paperwork in at the end of July. Got my refund check yesterday. I actually called last week and they didn't have my info in their systems. I think you shouldn't worry unless it's been more than 2 months. It's not the most organized approach, but they are trying to make everyone whole.

What is the due date to get a refund? And is that the day they need to receive your application or the postmark date? Thx.

Refund due date is 9/15. They didn't specify on the post mark date or date received but i'm guessing they need your submission in hand by 9/15. Complete speculation though, so take it for what its worth.

I sent mine in the Monday after it was announced. I have UPS confirmation that it was received. However, I have called Goose Island twice to follow up, and my name doesn't appear on any of their lists.

Similar situation with me. Sent my refund in the Monday after it was announced. Called earlier this week. The lady was very nice, but told me I was not on either the accepted or rejected list. She said they weren't necessarily processing the refunds in the order in which they received them. Doesn't make any sense, but OK. She also said they got way more refunds in than they were expecting. Seems like they should have a pretty solid idea of how many they should have expected.

In any case, she said not to worry ... that it is completely plausible that my refund is in their possession somewhere just waiting to be processed and sent out. And based on other's posts here it seems like their accepted/rejected lists aren't exactly accurate so I'm not certain that there isn't a check on it's way to me right now.

I called, and they told me postmark by Sept 15 is fine.

    I'm mailing mine out today!

Got my check today, I called on Sept 12 but I think its just a coincidence that they sent it out that day. Here's my timeline (took 7 weeks exactly):

    Mailed Form: July 27
    Approved: Aug 31
    Check Cut: Sept 8
    Check Sent: Sept 12
    Received: Sept 14

Got my check today for stuff that I sent in Aug. 2nd. I have 4 bottles left and am drinking one now, in all honesty it tastes like a tart cherry bourbon county stout to me.

So I really need to check this forum more, I had read about the variants but didn't realize the regular stuff was infected too. Saw this thread and decided to crack one of mine open and see and sure enough, we've got a tart cherry stout.

Haven't went through the thread but the bottle info was:

    21OCT15 1242
    14.3% ALC/VOL

Unfortunately, every bottle of mine has exactly the same info on it :slight_frown:

A little late on that refund...my fault of course.

Is there a particular phone # / ext to phone? It's been about 2 months since I sent in my documentation. Cheers!

1-800-GOOSE-ME, same here and they told me that my check went into the mail on Aug 11 and they would re issue a check if I didn't get it by last Friday. Called back last Friday with my check number and they have a record of my call but nothing stating in their notes that a check would be re issued! The check is clearly lost in the mail by whoever the carrier is. They said they would elevate this up and call me back after they investigate. I thought I was getting a check but not so promising anymore. I have not heard back yet and will give them another call this week, with the fear of again being told we have nothing stating that we are investigating this! Can't be that hard to verify if check has been cashed, cancel it and send another one.

I have been lucky in my longer than expected life to have never had a piece of mail totally lost. Until now. And I even took it to the PO, had it weighed and properly posted. I have decided to bequeath my usual place in line on Black Friday to someone who has higher regard for GI than I. None of their stuff is welcome in my house.

certainly, given the history you already experienced, this last call, you took out a notepad, asked for and wrote down the name of the person you spoke to and what their specific title is ~ with full disclosure that you were writing down the information & hoping you can count on them if need be in the unfortunate event the check does not arrive and you call back to discover there is "No record of any investigation, missing check, elevated status or prior conversations with you etc"?

also, anyone bitching about lost mail. please riddle me this. after seeing this whole thing play out, the missteps, poor/varied communication & poor organization before. you witness that - you take the time to put together & properly correlate the required materials to claim a refund but don't pay a couple of bux to send it Registered mail with a filled out return card??? you know. something that proves your parcel was hand delivered & received... or not.

I did that the first time asking what do i need to call back with to reference this call. They said the call is logged, which it was minus the check being re-issued detail. They said call back with your check number, which i gave. Second call I was given a ref number this time & rep name to ask for when call back specifically.

I believe you. At this point I think GI is trying to reject or claim not received as many refunds as possible. It's not a problem for them to refund 30 or 60 to someone but those sending in refunds for 150 plus have a high chance of their submission lost. The complaints will go unheard because those the did receive refunds will back GI and claim how someone it's the fault of the person sending in the submission.

I honestly think you're coming up with a conspiracy theory there. They have refunded plenty of people with refunds $150+ (including me). I think it's just that many beer companies such as this aren't really prepared to handle a situation like this. That's my take, at least.
