Thinking of trading some lambic for these, as I had a BA bottle recently and really liked it. Any comments to how the various years compare (ie- this year better/worse than last year?) when it was/is released, how hard it is to get, etc.

Really, I have no clue about this beer other than I got a bottle in a trade a while back (BA '12 I think) and it was damn tasty, so figured I'd post an ISO/FT but didn't want to make it insulting...

    Thanks,
    Ted

Don't bother man, next time you trade with someone from Ohio just have them throw it in as an extra.

I traded for it twice in the past year (for BCBS and KBS) and regretted the decision both times.

The Ba black-out is a brewery only, and I think its around $6 a bottle. The reg. version is distributed, but is still kinda hard to find, it is like $10-15 a four pack. I have only had the ba once and it was very tasty, the reg. is also good, and seems to be pretty consistent, at least the times I have had it. The prices are just a ball park, I dont remember exactly, but I shouldn't be far off.

Its pretty much the best trade bait we get here in Ohio so we sometimes overvalue it on the trade market

But it shouldn't be too hard to get a few nibbles if you post a trade request.

I think both the regular and the BA are outstanding. They age really well too. General consensus on 2013 BA Blackout was that its a little hot and could use some shelf time.

Barrel aged blackout was around 193 and change for a case out the door with a one case limit per person per day. regular is around ten bucks a four pack and is all over Ohio when it gets released. The regular is not hard to find but the barrel aged is only in Cleveland.

I had a friend pick up two 4 packs for me last year, $28/4pk. As mentioned before it's brewery only and she got it the day after the release. She said someone told her there was still some at the brewery a few days after that.
