Hopefully he is as happy with what I send him as I am with the load he drops on me. The above landed on my doorstep last night, en sequestered, yet greatly appreciated... This is one of several boxes that have been a part of a great trading relationship.. I've, likewise, tried to wow his palate with what I can land, find or track down for him at the same time... While this started, originally, from an ISO:FT situation ~ it's grown into a friendly karma swap from month to month! I'm sure, many of you out there have similar beer connections.. Just thought I'd toss this out there, as there is always a lot of questionable ISO:FT stuff out there from a lot of newbies... Patience and karma will go far friends! Cheers-
Happy with the load he dropped on ya eh? Well, to each his own. I prefer beer Seriously though, good trading partners make all the difference in the search for a new tick.
I can't even begin to tell you how much I appreciate regular partners. Without them there are many a beer I would never had the opportunity to try....It is best once it reaches the level of shipping without any regard for what's coming or going...you just know it's working.
I much prefer non-specific swaps. Its like a little Christmas present shows up at the door, and I'm so excited to see the new beers I'll get to try. I have 3 friends I trade with this way, and I wouldnt want it any other way. I might not get all my "wants" but I get a lot of stuff I would never even know to ask for!
Yo this dude must live in Oregon because i still havent found stupid Dissident. And when i do Mordomongo is getting one because that fool is one of those trading partners we all talk about. But thats a solid ass box.
Both have their merits. I have a handfull of awesome trade partners that we accumulate better local stuff and send packages when we have enough to send. Occasionally when a large amount of quality locals become available I will do a one time trade with someone who is ISO: what I have. Very rarely do I FT:
I have been hooked up big time by my regular partners. I try my best to keep up with what they send. I only post ISOs for things my regular partners can't get or for stuff I want to send to regulars or BIF targets. I will respond to ISOs if I have the $ and product to help someone out.
I had something similar with a trading partner recently. I got him something he wanted in return for a random box, and it didn't disappoint. It was cool not knowing what I was going to get, especially when I know I won't be disappointed (far from it in fact). As far as the question goes, I've only traded multiple times with one guy, and the ISO:FT has been great too. I've had anywhere from good to great experiences trading so far. So while trading with the same people over and over again is awesome and preferable, ISO:FT can be great too.
