Thanks to @The_Kriek_Freak I have two more styles ready to be ticked and I'm on my quest for my final style tick. Roggenbier.

This seems to be a tough one to pull. Does anyone know of a brewery that brews this on the reg? Any tips appreciated!

That's a tough one. I don't think there are any that see any level of distribution anymore. At one time Paulaner + Thurn & Taxis had bottled examples, but those are no longer brewed. This one might still be around: https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/5749/97428
I haven't seen it in a while. The last few times I've been in Germany I haven't seen a single example of the style, either. The last few I've tried have been from small'ish brewpubs that brewed one for the hell of it, but only did it once. For what it's worth, it's a fun style. I'd describe it as a dunkelweizen with a little Flemish Red tossed in.

This style is so hard to get. I think the only country that has constant availability of it is Austria (that's where I got my one and only tick of the style). A friend of mine homebrewed one last year too.

I did some digging and it seems like the most recent release of a (packaged) Roggenbier was from Edmund's Oast (South Carolina). Perhaps someone from the area can confirm its availability?

I've enjoyed the Sierra Nevada (I think.Rye PA). It is very good. It is occasionally included in mixed cases.

I got my Roggenbier tick with Rogue's Roguenbier Rye Ale, which I ordered from Craft Beer Kings. (The shipping cost was three times the cost of the beer, but that's neither here nor there.) There are 20 "gots" listed for this. Check 'em out. Then you got your Norm Is A Son Of A Bitch from Spiteful, last active here in July 2023. You might be able to work a trade with one of the Chicago-area BAs for this one. Good luck!

Ruthless Rye, probably. Not a true Roggenbier, just an IPA with rye in the malt bill.

But yes, a very good brew.

I can remember drinking import Roggenbier back in the 90s, but my two reviews are small batch brews.

A smaller local will probably be your best bet for the style.

The Only two I've had were Rueben's Roggenbier, which was on Tavour, and one from Beaver Brewing outside of Pittsburgh. They make this occasionally, but I believe only ship within PA.

    Are you in StL?

If so check a place like Civil Life or Urban Chestnut

no idea - I said to check with them since they seem like the kind of place that would brew one.

Call 'em up. Put a bug in their ear.

It's a perfect style for a German-centric brewery like UC.

This has been an annual seasonal release. It used to be released in late Fall, but this year was released in early Fall IIRC, and the last cans sold out this or last week.

Spiteful is pretty consistent with their regular and seasonal releases, so those seeking this one should find it next Fall.

I really enjoyed the rye and texture from this beer. I’m still trying to work through a large cellar, but will hopefully have room to purchase some next year.

Brewery Becker in Brighton, MI has one currently on tap, and the recent review from September may be a hint that it is packaged. A PM to the BA member who wrote the review, and who has the Trader placard, will determine if it is bottled/canned and possibly create a trade.

Wow, now that you brought this up, I can't think of anyone that makes one very often. I got lucky and one of my local breweries made one last year (quite a good one too), but I don't know of any others around me that has. Hope you find one.

Quick search shows they did, but may have been a 1 off in 2020
