hey all, this has probably been asked before, but when i hook up my regulator to my CO2 tank to i need to use some form of sealant? im assuming yes. So the real question is do i use teflon tape or the "Blue" 242 removable loctite? or doesnt it matter at all?
None of the above.. You should have a rubber gasket or nylon or fiber gasket in the coupling nut that came with regulator
Ah ok...thank you. I haven't received any of my equipment yet so it was just sort of a preemptive question
There are people who will tell you to use sealant, but I agree with zero signal. I never have used anything and never had a leak. Queue giant hissing noise in the garage now.......
I like the nylon gasket and one turn (and one turn only) of yellow gas line tape. Most like the nylon because they crush seal very well, as long as you have good mating surfaces.
The nylon or fiber gasket makes the seal. Many CO2 suppliers will simply give you one when you fill your tank if you ask. You can use tape, threadlock, or bubble gum if it makes you happy, but they serve no purpose in this application (and anybody who sees your setup will probably snicker behind your back! )
thanks a lot guys...my old regulator is a hunk of junk that a friend of mine put on, this is my first build so im trying to do it right
