Rehydrating Dry Yeast?

    Oh…okay, my first time hearing that was sitting in on the NHC faults & flaws seminar with you last year.
    (& been listening to jeff's advice for almost ten years now…can't say he's steered me wrong yet)

    I just pulled out my notes from last year's NHC and in the presentation given by Pat Fahey (Sensory and Flavor Techniques for Brewers) I wrote down: "20% of the population can't perceive diacetyl".

    What?

    Ok, there is a statement as to a % of the population being blind to Diacetyl in the OCB, VDK article.

    It is something you hear and read often, but as to the primary source?

    My buddy isn't blind to D, but taste impaired at even moderate levels...I envy him :slight_smile:
