Did they get it already and sell out? Or just not in yet? I was thinking about checking the other Fairfax location.

That makes me feel worse, I know the beer lady there as my wife used to work part time at the Chesapeake store, I can't imagining her not telling me the truth...she did say "the truck didn't come yet but they weren't getting it, hopefully next week" or something like that. I assumed they could see what was coming on the truck, but maybe not?

 

I will call them when I get out of work, the truck must have been late today since usually when I stop by at lunch time on Wed (~1130) the guy is done offloading.

 

it was interesting trying to find it in Richmond yesterday.

the shops north of the river received on tuesday, shops south of the river should get it thurs/fri.
my local bottle shop had to hide it in bags as they handed my 2 bottles to me so as not to start a storm with others customers in the shop looking for some.

seemed like quite a few more kegs of KBS hit town compared to previous years... so there's always that.

 

Stopped by Grape and Gourmet and they let me buy one bottle of KBS. I called the Total Wine at Hilltop prior and the lady said they had a two bottle limit but couldn't tell me how many they had (and of course their new policy is to not hold things) so I said to heck with that and called G&G and had them hold me one.

 

i have 2 bottles on hold at the norfolk total wine - for $6 a piece. what does everyone usually pay for these? i'm sure i'm overpaying but i doubt i'll be able to get my hands on some any other way.

 

I paid $5.99 at G&G. And the Norfolk one will hold them but the Chesapeake and Hilltop one won't??

I verified that the Chesapeake store did not get KBS and indeed they are expecting it next week...

But they did have Hopzilla in, though still limited.

 

That's quite a haul.

I managed to snag one more bottle from G&G when I went to the tasting today. $12 for two small bottles and I have no idea if I even like the stuff.
