I'm going to be in the immediate area on Sat and thought about dropping by. Anyone like what they have? Also, do they fill non-Relic growlers?
I haven't been in while, but Relic is pretty solid. Definitely worth stopping by if you're in the area. As far as growlers, I am 99% sure that they fill anyone's growlers. They may have restrictions on the type of growlers they fill(i.e., clear glass, swing top, etc), not sure though, they may not. They offer the typically 64oz and 32oz growlers, so those are a safe bet regardless of the source brewery.
They fill any type of growler (including swingtops). Really nice folks and the beers are adventurous. Always something different on tap and well worth a few fills!
He (it's really one guy with volunteers) has brewed something like 70+ beers in the 2+ years he's been open. No flagship-type beer, whatever he feels like brewing. He posts on Twitter and Facebook what's going to be available. There have been some concerns about quality control issues, but I think he's fixed them. Small tasting room, no seats. Free samples of all the beers. Usually some brewery-only bottle releases. He has distribution to I think only 1 or 2 bars, so whatever you get at the brewery isn't likely available everywhere. Worth a stop if you're in the area, cheers.
I love Relic! Doesn't really get talked a lot about around here. Mark does Belgians really well and always has something interesting and adventurous to offer up.
Great feedback. Thanks. I'm really interested in the Belgians. Nebco's 668 sets a high hurdle in terms of local Strong Ales, but I'm looking for other good ones.
