If your post isn't helpful.. it's a threadshit. Its simply not needed. Take a stroke through the ISO/FT and you'd see what people are talking about.

There are qualifications for posting now, so we are on board with that idea. It was decided that, over not allowing anything. Some people post trades that are just not going to get done, or would get them bashed. Those who can post, are there to be helpful and suggest a change for the next post, or they can refrain, and allow the lack of response to their threads.

If people can post an ISO/FT and can't manage their inbox, then I'd probably move on.

I like it - basically the only people who should be replying are very experienced traders who are giving helpful and appropriate advice.

The criteria seem more than fair- limiting replies to those people who have a long proven track record of trade experience, a good reputation, and no warnings. I don't meet the criteria, and I agree with that; I shouldn't.

Out of curiosity, what % of verified users (or active traders) have the privilege? I am assuming it is something in the 1% or below range which is a good thing.

It's a moving target, but it's currently sitting at 3%. We'll adjust if the pool becomes too big.

As points expire, if you meet the criteria, you can post again in the ISO/FT.

Makes sense. This feels like a pretty easy and worthwhile addition to the forums, provided the warnings are handed out fairly and that all mods have the same definition of "helpful" comments.

I'd like to think all are adults and can understand what helpful is and isn't pretty clearly.

I agree it's a very worthwhile addition. Also knowing ahead of time what it takes is also very important. However I disagree on the 'helpful' comments. If even one mod may find your comment distasteful just send it via BM. No sense in potentially making a worthless comment public.

I don't even post my own ISO threads anymore because I'm too intimidated by all the threadshitting that goes on. Personally, I think this is a great idea. I'm just more than a little curious as to why I wouldn't be included in the "priveleged" sect.

Did you read what Todd posted? It lays out the requirements for posting. You need more posts as much as I can tell.

The user promotion updates periodically, but a simple look at the criteria and your account shows that you don't have 250 or more counted posts.

Commenting for another counted post... just kidding. I think that this is a welcome addition, and will help cut down on the worthlessential threadshitting and value protectionism that has been going on.

Seems pretty good to me! - I would think that if it ever gets above 5% it might be time to crank down on the criteria - hard to argue with a rationale that the top tier experienced traders should be the ones giving input and advice!

Edit - had the thought (don't know if this is hard to do) but the number of posts might be a thing you want to focus on specific types of posts (not sure what) to filter for the WABYDN and stuff like that where people rack up the posts without really adding a lot of content (other than beer **** pics!)

And this is the very reason for the change. The amount of rude and hateful, utterly unhelpful comments has gone too far. It's one to tell someone they are not offering a realistic offer, but most are motivated by the people who love to take advantage of the other person. Hype their own beer for their own positive outcome or are just down right being assholes to just make a point.

If you meet the criteria, which you are short on posts- feel free to assist the people who are severely misguided or simply allow them to hear the crickets from a lack of response.

I am so out of the loop with the ISO:FT here then as I did not realize the thread shitting and shameless bumping was THAT big of an issue. There are always going to be clowns, certainly, but hey...it's all good. Personally, I think this will be a good move.

Just to confirm, let's say if someone does an ISO/FT that is really 'out there'. You want us to chime and and point out it's off and why it is as such? Constructively pointing out how/why this fictitious person isn't going to land a BVDL with shelf New Glarus?

Value to post count is something worth looking at, but most people won't make it to 250 posting garbage over and over. Hence the number chosen at the time.

That's fair. I was more thinking as a potential lever to crank down the number of people with the privilege later on if it increases too much. Could also use warnings in the past 3 or 6 months rather than current warnings (which is the ding for me - a totally deserved off topic warning) since most warnings expire in only a month. If anything, warnings is likely a good indicator of douchy content...

    Within reason.

I look at it as this: tell me I have toilet paper on my shoe when I'm walking around. Or food in my beard.

Don't tell me my belt and shoes don't match.

The obvious stuff that could help someone feel free to chime in and let them know it's so far in left field. Feel free to tell someone it won't take that much from your experience.

But no need to be the police on what can and can't get done. If they offer what they want in most cases they can tell it'll work or not based on their lack of bms.

I assume the flip side is true? Someone new who is offering up stuff that might get taken advantage of? Per your example it needs to be something pretty naive and worthy of mention to a new trader to let them know they are giving away the farm?

Not to get off topic too much but do warnings fall off automatically after a month? I supposedly got flagged for "threadshitting" over a month ago and was supposed to expire 7/12 but it's still on my account
