Republic House Grand Opening 2/26/2014!

I plan on being there tomorrow for the grand opening. How long has this place been in the works? Close to a year now it feels.

 

I've been waiting for this to happen for a couple of months now. The only bad thing is no growler fills.

 

Didn't we talk about this place at the first Nobi tasting?

I'll try to make it out, I'm always down to support local spots.

 

Thanks for posting! We've been discussing the place for probably 9 months and in pretty active construction for 2-3 months. It's a long road but we're finally here!

So the list that Curtis listed above is accurate. We'll be focusing on Texas beer but we'll have beers from all over the place as well - you'll just notice that we're pretty heavy on Texas stuff and Houston stuff. If you come by, look for me and introduce yourself, my name is Vijay. I can't wait to meet everyone and start this thing going!

I'm hoping to check it out this Sunday. How's the atmosphere?

 

I walked in at opening and it was calm and cool. It's busy at this point and hard to move. Let's give it time and see how it develops. This area has been waiting for a spot like this so I'd imagine it stays busy for awhile. So far so good though, well run, good tap list., good conversation. I'm diggin it.

 

The closest to me was Nobi and I'm glad to have a place 5 min from the house.

 

This is a pretty far trip from my house... they'll have to have something special for me to head all the way over.. but I'm sure I'll make it in a couple of times a year... always nice to have another option.

Upon further review it isn't that much farther than Nobi... so it might depend on how crowded/easy to get into it is compared to Nobi at times...

Nobi is about 15 miles from my house....Republic is 23 or so...

 

I'm very excited about this place. I work right down Red Bluff, so I'm glad to hear it has a decent tap list. How is the whiskey selection?

 

I grew up in Deer Park and my mom still lives there. Heading down tonight, might try to grab a beer or two at this place tomorrow!

 

How have ya'll enjoyed it? We're still working on some kitchen work, so we'll have food in a couple weeks, that is coming!

The whiskey selection is pretty extensive. Lots of Texas and local stuff with a smattering of great stuff from all over. Our owner loves whiskey, so that's his baby!

Our tap wall is definitely Texas heavy as that's our theme but you'll see stuff from all over as well. I won't be there tonight, but if you are in there, please look for me and say hi - I love meeting fellow lovers of beer.
