Definitely what I had pointed out. It makes that particular format more accessible.

Well, I can think of plenty of beers filling stations and breweries have had on tap that I passed on due to abv. I am not solo'ing a imperial stout. So for that purpose, I would never buy a crowler or growler of beer I couldn't finish once that cap is off.

My thoughts exactly, I tend to exclusively use my growler for IPA's.

Dumb question—got my first two of these yesterday at Bierstadt Lagerhaus and am wondering—can I bring these back for refills? As a home brewer, I’m looking at these things and thinking, a little PBW, a little Star-San, this thing is good as new, no different than a glass growler. And—I know how much the standard, pop-top crowler cans and lids used to cost us at the brewery I worked for, and this lid has to cost 2x or 3x than the standard can and lid cost. Since they sold me 24 oz of Helles and 24 oz of Slow Pour Pils for $4.50 each, somewhere between 1/4 and 1/3 of that must have been the can cost.

I like the looks of these, but doubt any brewery is going to refill that.

32oz growlers have been around long time, I still like mine better then one use crowlers as less waste. Not sure this really is that big of improvement

I’d bet they’ll be just fine.

My guess would be that the cap is going to be the weakest link in the chain. I would guess that if you had access to caps, you could probably reuse these. But again not sure how long beer would last in one of these before oxygen creeped in.
