Yep! The first neurologist I saw tested me for a wide variety of diseases/conditions. Tick bites/ Lyme came back negative multiple times. We have ruled out: ALS, all forms of muscular dystrophies, Leukemia, Crohn's, Celiac, brain tumor, MS, Parkinson's, Wilson's, Lupus, etc. As far as symptoms go, it is somewhat close to Parkinson's, but I don't have that as my movements are more dystonic than PD. As far as I know, we have virtually eliminated Huntington's, as there are so few cases that don't have a genetic link (plus my cognitive reasoning skills haven't depreciated).

The nerve conduction study I had to eliminate ALS and dystrophy wasn't exactly my idea of a fun time, i'd rather be sipping on a Julius, but I'm very thankful to know that I don't have either of those.

The chief concern of the non-dystonia symptoms is we *think* I might be exhibiting petit mal seizures, as well. Who knows how this all ties together. Each dystonia case is very unique. Most people just have it in their neck.

I can still work (I'm a financial analyst), which I'm very fortunate on that front for now.

The first neurologist asked if I was taking any herbal medications from overseas. Immediately, my dad thought of hops coming from all over the world. Need not worry fellow BAers, hops cannot give you dystonia!

I am sorry to hear this. I certainly don't envy you over the nerve conduction test. That test is a bitch. Best wishes.

Kinda puts the whole "it's just beer" thing into perspective.

Dystonia, eh? I'll read up on it. Education is the best weapon.

Just wanted to echo everyone else and wish you all the best. My dad was diagnosed with a mild form of Parkinson's a couple years ago. I know they have made a huge amount of progress in treating neurological disorders and I'm sure there's a cure for both of you coming soon. God bless.
