I just opened and poured a can 2 days ago that was chock full of them. So they're definitely not 100% floatie free yet.

Popped a can earlier this week that was full of floatie goodness.

Yet to try Heady. As far as Resin goes, it was overly malty & boozy for my taste, to each his own. Ghandi Bot was a great canned beer with more balance. Also enjoyed Surly offerings quite a bit. A small part of me clings to local offerings like Alpine, their IPAs do me no wrong

Just out of curiosity, not directed at you personally but to the group: Under what circumstances is it acceptable for a beer (other than a Hefeweizen, say) to have "floaties"? If the brewer says so?

I don't mean this sarcastically, I'm honestly curious because normally they are considered flaws, so I'm wondering what the exceptions are.

If it tastes as good as Heady Topper.

Really very different beers and yes I would take Heady every day of the week. Not like I don't like Resin, but Heady is the number two DIPA on here and for a reason.

I have been fortunate to get a fair amount of HT,and Resin in trades with other BAers this year. Of the two I prefer Heady but as a west coaster who gets tons of fresh Alpine, Kern and RR, I just don't get the hype associated with HT. I guess it's a regional thing, as a lot of Midwest and east coast fellow BAs don't get the Alpine or RR hype. I will say one thing though, that Heady is WAY better out of a tulip than out of that can, that's just marketing plain and simple. You want to know the best regional beer I have received in trades this year? Zombie Dust, hands down the best non west coast brew I have ever had, by a long shot, if we could get 3F's in Cali ? Oh man.........sipping one now as a matter of fact.

    Cheers.....

Y'know, fresh Double Jack may not be a bad comparison. The thing with Heady is, though, that it's so blond in malt character, if that makes any sense. That's part of what makes it what it is, in my opinion.
