Looking for suggestions from the locals for a good restaurant in the Denver & surrounding areas for the Fri and Sat during GABF week. Somewhere with a reasonable beer list (emphasis on local a plus), no seafood, maybe a little nicer than casual and not just "bar food", good steaks possibly...This is our fourth time out and have done the Buckhorn & Chop House (not good experience). Have tried to do Freshcraft this year & last, but they are booked solid all week. Hope this narrows down what we'd be looking for, thanks for the help!

Euclid Hall, which will be packed, but has fantastic food. Cheeky Monk, which will be less packed since it is out of downtown. Good Blegian food (muscles and frites). Chop House has OK-ish beer and pretty good steaks. For what you describe, this is in order of suggestions.

If you like burgers check out highland tap and burger.

Rackhouse Pub outside of the Downtown area has great beer and great food. You can also take a free tour of Stranahan's Whisky there. Many of Colorado's breweries use there barrels for whisky aging.

Well, the Wynkoop is a good place for that. Nice beer list (their own) and some good dining. Then there's Ale House at Amato's just across I-25 (and close to Denver Beer Co. and Prost). Neither place is fancy schmancy, but better than bar food.

Highland Tap and Burger has great burgers, but they serve them in a way that makes them impossible to hold (usually I end up with my face in the basket trying to eat the good stuff). Then again, a better burger joint is Park Burger just west of Highland T/B on 32nd and Clay. Small joint, awesome short list of burgers.

Then you got Yak and Yeti. If you like mild ales and Indian food, this is the place. Actually, there's two, but the one just off of Wadsworth in Arvada (close to Arvada Brewery) is the bomb-diggity for good food and beer.

I'll toss out Beau Jo's in Idaho Springs as being a place to get some unique (but tasty) pizza with a pretty good tap and bottle/can list. Plus, Tommyknocker is next door, so their beers are extra fresh. You can walk over and get one of the largest samplers I've ever seen plus some excellent draft-only exclusives.

For a spot downtown - Lucky Pie sometimes gets overlooked, but they have a great taplist and good pizza. They also have fried olives that are about as addictive as crack.

For steaks, Sullivan's is right beside the Wynkoop. Capital Grill is down in Larimer Square. Both of them are top notch. There's also a Morton's, but you're borderline sitting on top of people because of the layout of the place. Rodizio is over by the 'Koop, too. They're an all-you-can-eat Brazilian steakhouse.

Colt & Gray is a bit like Euclid Hall (I prefer Euclid, personally) with some occasionally very unusual taps.

Obligatory Hops & Pie or Vine Street Pub

For straight up food quality, I'd say ChoLon, Fruition, Osteria Marco, Rioja, D Bar, Potager

There's also one in Boulder, Fort Collins, and more importantly Denver.
