I'm traveling from Philadelphia to Reston, VA on business for a couple of days this week. Any decent breweries or beer bars in the area?

Also, any recommendations for bottle shops would be appreciated.

    Thanks BAs!

Old Ox and Lost Rhino are in Ashburn.

Thanks! That looks to be about 20 min West. Definite possibility. Anything in the Arlington or Bethesda areas...or just head into DC?

Add Ocelot to Reston. Only a few beers on tap since they are new but I have really liked what I have had. I prefer them over old ox and lost rhino but you could hit all 3 fairly easily.

Arlington/ Rustico and Fireworks pizza usually have very good draft lists.

Beltway Brewing is probably the closest brewery to Reston. Never been mysellf so I cannot speak on how it is there.

In Herndon you can try Carpool and/or Mellow Mushroom both have a good draft list. There is also a World of Beer at Reston Town Center, never been but I assume they have a large list of draft and bottles.

It will probably take you a while to get to Arlington on a week night unless you wait until after 7 before heading out that way or take the metro. I wouldn't waste your time going to Bethesda, probably nothing there worth the time you will spend in your car or metro.

Bottle shops in the Reston area, nothing too great but you can definitely get some locals or stuff not available in PA:
    - Whole Foods Reston, they have a small growler station as well
    - Trader Joes, small selection but they have a decent selection of local stuff (Hardywood, DC Brau, Alewerks, etc)
    - MOMs in Herndon
    - there is a wine shop off Reston Parkway, about a mile or so north of Reston Town Center, expensive!
If you are up for driving 15-20 minutes (that is w/o traffic)
    - Whole Foods Fair Lakes, 5x the beer selection as the one in Reston and they have like 20 taps w/ growler fills
    - Any of the Total Wines, I'd guess the closest to Reston is the one in Sterling
    - Norms is Vienna isn't too far, really good selection

    If you're sticking to Reston/Herndon:

World of Beer - Largest selection, biggest variety of esoteric and harder to find beers.
Mellow Mushroom - Slightly less taps and much less of the "crazy stuff", still cool.
The Counter - Also in Reston town center, cool spot, good burgers.
Carpool - Big selection, gets some of the more one off type draft, a bit more younger/bro type atmosphere.

For bottles, there is a bottle shop (Wine Cabinet) that I would check out. Also there is a Whole Foods in Reston but they have kind of a small cooler. If you have a car and want to take a 15 minute trip, Whole Foods Fair Lakes is the way to go.
