Is it worth my time to try returning some beer to the liquor store? I bought a 4 pack of Double Wide IPA last night, poured a glass for me and one for my wife. As soon as I took a sip I knew something was wrong, it tasted like molasses and booze. The best by date on the bottle is 11/13/2012. So I have half a four pack, we dumped ours out. Any chance at getting an exchange?
I worked at Apollo down in Rochester many years ago, and we would always give refunds on bad beer or wine if the costumer brought back the majority of it. I don't think you'll have a problem getting a refund as long as you bring back the remaining three bottles.
if the store isn't helpful, email boulevard, they have awesome customer service and will take care of it.
No problems at all. The guy was very apologetic and went and checked all the Boulevard and pulled any bad stuff off the shelf. He seemed kind of embarrassed that neither the reps nor the store caught it. He also gave me the option of a refund or exchange with a 10% discount.
Shouldn't the distributor be keeping an eye on their product? I know when I worked for a distributor in college on the truck we didn't have time to jack around checking dates, but the sales guys who would visit the store checked on things like that.
That's what he said to me too, and he said they try and check the dates when they stock the shelves and clean
