I couldn't make it to the release but a few stores in the western burbs already have it on the shelf.

I went expecting to buy 4, but after having it on tap I bought 1. It was pretty good once it warmed up, but nothing special. Really wish they would remake BA Baracus and bottle it.

    9/25 - Deth's Tar
10/2 - Red Skull imperial red ale & Working Woman, a stronger, more bitter version of Workingman Mild brown ale

10/9 - Adam's Best, a traditional best bitter & Georgia Gene, bourbon barrel-aged Eugene Porter with peach

10/16 - Penguin Hops, a pale ale brewed with hops grown at Chicago's Shedd Aquarium

10/23 - Working Mom, bourbon barrel-aged Working Woman

Believe they are $15 a bottle. Very bourbon forward and delicious. Plenty to be had too, from what I could tell.

Is the general consensus I should sit on my bottle for a year or so?

I love bourbon bombs, so I am going to drink one soon. Age 1, give one to a friend thats a Star Wars fan for a small wedding gift and send 1 to a trading partner in California.

I didn't even try it at the tap room because I've enjoyed all of Rev's BA beers and for the price it's a steal.

Drink it now and see if you even like it.
if you do, buy another. They made a ton of it.

For the price and availability, why wouldn't you want to try it now to then compare it with age?

I'm cheap and kinda dislike bourbon bombs, but by golly I'll drink it tonight. I'm sure I'll manage to get some in the future at some bottle share or somethin.

Put me in the "definitely good now, but will be improved with some additional aging time" camp... definitely boozy and bourbon forward at the moment, but I dug the underlying flavors. Only minor complaint is that I wish it had just a bit more body...

I've found a lot of their BA stuff to be too thin. The one that stood out to me was Gravedigger Billy. If they bottled that, I'd buy it immediately.

How about some BA Black Power? The regular Black Power a couple months back was excellent.

    E. Normagene is my favorite of Rev's BA offerings; although Gravedigger Billy is damn tasty as well.

Back on topic... Deth's Tar was pretty damn good, but I agree with most everyone here that is was very hot. I didn't think it was crazy thin either. Regardless, it is very good and should be checked out by anyone that loves big boozy stouts.

Boozy is my middle name. Anyone in its distro area want to snag me a bottle for a small trade?
