Haha...that's exactly what the writer of the original article was talking about (and several have chimed in and agreed).

I concur, regular Shock top isn't very good and I do not plan on buying the Honey Bourbon any time soon...that said...If offered from a friend or my local watering hole for free, I would never pass up a chance to educate (or devastate) my palate.

Not trying any said product due to an over exaggeration of my untested tastings is equivalent to my six year old grandson saying he doesn't like green beans...then asked if he has ever tried green beans says "no"...real credibility is base on real experience...good or bad...all other opinion is merely conjecture.

Drink whatever you want, whenever you want and enjoy.

A lot of people do. Cleanses the pallet and refocuses efforts. Also, its not good to get burned out. for instance, I've been a hardcore gamer since the early 80s... It's important to take maybe a month break from it all to prevent oneself from getting burned out.

A lot of you are validating the argument and fanning the flames. This isn't about Coors, who likes Coors, who doesn't or who is "right." You might agree that Coors is awesome. Or even dislike Coors, but believe its cool to drink whatever you want... but that douche and people like him is still knocking you for your practices. Even if you aren't a snob, people like him are still lumping you in the same group.

For what it is, Coors Banquet is a damn fine beer. I am raising my glass of Ovila Abbey Quad w/Plums as I type that, while (un)ironically wearing an old Coors Light T-shirt. Cheers to you.

Why should we care about what this guy has to say? Its just another person talking shit over the internet, one of many. If he lumps me in with the more elitist members of our little community then so what? Its just some guy that I will likely never meet and even if I do we might get along. We should be talking about beer, not some flame war that occurred on another site. Cheers

Yeah, theoretically. But, I must posit the idea that there are many more time and places for water. IMHO, good old H2O is ALWAYS better than a crappy, watered down beer.

It is freakin awesome now! If someone wants their bmc I say let 'em :grinning:

"And personally, I didn't see any beer geek in the article being "worked in to a frenzy" or getting offended by the article." This statement is hilarious, because of how offended you are by this article.

Seriously, your language is more inflammatory than anything said by the guy defending his choice of cheap cans.

A good rule of thumb is to never get offended by anything. If that dosent work then never get offended by anything you read in an Internet forum. And if that dosent work then accept the fact that the world will not always agree with you. And if that does not work. STAY OFF THE INTERNET

I would modify this to "dont get offended when no offence was intended".........there are times when it's reasonable to be offended. But beer choice is only personal taste and opinion.

I try not to disagree with the fine people from the UK but in this instance I do. One should never be offended by anything. Just take things in and ponder there relevance and importance.

You would destroy a fine industry - that of taking offence on behalf of others. Leicester has a large Indian population and the local authority was advised to cease putting up Christmas decorations because they would "offend the Indian community"
The upshot was the Indian community came back with "Don't be so stupid, we love the Chritmas decorations!"

"that douche and people like him" What the hell man? Nobody here is calling him a douche, but you. Nobody here is "offended" by what he said.

"People like you". Like me? I seriously doubt it.

Just because I enjoy super duper hoppy big ipa's, doesn't mean miller lite or some angry orchard isn't in my fridge to change it up. Besides, if I have a cookout ans want to drink for 5+ hours I certainly am not about to knock back a 12pk of otwoa. Miller lite pounders? All day every day
