No idea saw it at HEB had to take a pic of how cheap it was. 6-pack tall boys were 3.99

Drink less? Save money, cut cals. Win-win.

    But if you must, SNPA.

If you drink it REALLY cold, straight from the can and finish it before it gets to 37-38 degrees, it's like drinking a club soda with less taste and more alcohol. I can think of no finer beer to guzzle after doing some really sweaty yard work because it doesn't have enough taste to be disagreeable. It's also great for tailgating in Houston for the same reasons.

I haven't seen that one yet! But then I haven't even been here for a year yet either. Hopefully when it comes around, I can get some. All I have seen from them so far in the barleywine department is the brewer's cut blonde barleywine. It's a bit odd, but don't get me wrong, I drank every bottle. I appreciated the innovation, even if the result was a bit of a one-off-er.

I really like RABC's beers tho, and HEB always has something from them in stock. Sometimes they're pretty cheep too, like 7.99 (sometimes even less) for a sixer or something like that.

I absolutely LOVE the brewer's cut altbier, I am going to be bummed when that one goes away. I also very much love the four squared (described as their blonde ale with lots of extra hops).

Either way, I like that it's a local brewery*, and I like the beer, so I keep buying it. :grinning:

Now this frio light stuff... I askeered. If I wanted a glass of water, I'd go to the kitchen and turn on the fawcett. If I can find singles at HEB, I'll give it a try and post a review, but I'm not buying a friggin' 30 pack!!

*as local as you can get, or at least close enough

is this a joke? Growlers are a rip off for everyday drinking. Just some quick math here:
A growler of normal gravity beer can be had for $11 lets say, and at 64 oz thats 17 cents per ounce.
a 6 pack be had for $9 (7 on sale), which is 72 ounces, so thats 12.5 cents per ounce.

Did you know that not all breweries can/bottle their beer?

Yea, I do. Did you know that this thread was about cheap beer? So unless you know of a place that consistently sells 64oz growler fills for less than $8, growlers are not cheap or even reasonablly priced. And I'm not hating on growlers, I get mine filled from time to time, but it's definitely a luxury/special ocassion type of thing.

Y'all are too privileged. When I think cheap beer I'm thinking $7.99 a 12 pack, not a sixer. What's the default for you assholes? 3 bombers of Samiclaus with a Utopia chaser and anything less than that is "cutting back"?

Seriously, though, I also have to do the "cheap beer during the week, splurge on the weekends" thing myself, and I find Modelo Especial to be a highly underrated session lager. It's got a solid malt backbone but is light enough that you can put 'em back at will. That and even the gas stations around here usually price it around $11-12 a twelve pack so even on a shoestring budget it's an all day, everyday kinda beer
