I saw on their website that this was released today. Anyone know if this is draft only of if bottles are available?

I'll be in Chicago this weekend and will definitely be stopping by the brewpub. Do they have any other bottles available from the Wood series?

Draft only. I didn't try it, but heard from a number of people that it was odd....

I liked it but the carb level seemed a bit high... Not sure if it's just the tap setup or what...

Draft only, its solid, but very non description for a rev brew ba beer. I wouldn't be able to tell it apart from say hugene blind. The finish/linger is quite nice if you let it warm.

I wasn't blown away. However, my pour of Alderaan has me pumped for Deth's Tar.

Wasn't very good. Basically a BA Black IPA. I rated it 4.0 out of 5.0, but it was really more like a 3.85 out of 5.00.

thats still seems like a pretty high rating for something not very good.

Have to take expectations out of the equation, IMO. Grade it for what it is. Not for it it met or failed to meet your expectations.

a 4.0 on BA is slowly becoming the 4.0 on Yelp.

I think it was good, but by Rev's barrel program standards, it was below average. It's better than Hugene, not quite as good as E. Norma Gene. I'd really like to see Rev branch out from woodford (it's a fine, but nothing interest kind of bourbon that "cheats" on their aging process while in the barrels by using temperature controls to simulate six seasons in the year for more "in and out" wood action (insert joke here)), age their brews a little longer for added complexity, and branch outside of bourbon-aging more often. I liked some of the wine aged projects they did back in early 2012 (e.g, the Marquis), and would like to see more experimenting. Would also be cool to see more things like Chili Anti-hero, zanate (BA Zanate in templeton barrels with chilis added would be awesome), and the like

That said, quite excited for Deethstar!

My publicity ratings are definitively lower than Obamas. Romney has a better shot of BA of the year. You do the math.

At the risk of affecting anyone's publicity rating, I think it's prudent to point out two things before the BA community at large gets the wrong idea despite what "definitive" sources might suggest:
    1. Just so we're clear, Hugene is not barrel-aged (E. Norma Gene is the barrel-aged version of Hugene)
    2. It's called Deth's Tar

4.0 out of 5.0 is a decent beer, just not great. Mediocre. I'd give it a 78 out of 100 which rounds up to a 4 out of 5, a solid C+ or B- offering. But by all means commence with the name calling, and I'll be sure to consult with you before rating my next beer .
