Oh ok. So what's a pale ale and not a DIPA?

Double Fist. At least if i recall correctly. Dont know what its labelled in the bottles, but back when it was a tap only it was a pale ale of sorts

Ah. It's labeled a "Double Pale Ale" on the bottle, a DIPA on BA, and it's in the alcohol/IBU range for a DIPA.

After investigating, I have to say, you are correct. It's listed on here as a dipa, but the bottle designates it as a double pale ale. That would probably be more descriptive for anyone wanting to try it...which they should!

Double Pale Ale is correct. Its literally a doubled version of Iron Fist, recipe-wise, with minor tweaks. Really wish they would do a Double Hero though. But I'll settle for various incarnations of Eugene (E. Norma Gene is the mutt's nutts if you haven't tried it yet).

I'm with you on the double hero.

They do some really nice clones of Dark Horse brews, you will enjoy them BrohammedAli.

They have a Woodford Reserve barrel-aged version of Hugene on right now called E. Norma Jean (I believe). Also the Wee Heavy is on tap and cask right now. And an imperial red called Red Skull. Of the three I preferred the Red Skull (like a Double Fist with slightly different malt character). The BA Hugene didn't really do it for me. The Wee Heavy on cask was good too, hoppy for the style if my memory serves.

And I believe I have said it in another thread, but the Citra dry-hopped Hugene on cask a couple weeks ago was the best thing of theirs I've had in a long time.

IMO, E. Norma Gene is fantastic. Miles above the regular Hugene (which I preferred Eugene to). Tons of barrel (oak, vanilla) comes out and really improves the overall beer without being too boozy.

i only had a taster pour of e norma gene but it was quite good from what i remember. if it's still on tap at the straight jacket release, i might have to grab a glass.

until they run out of it my go to when i hit up revolution is the very mad cow. i find it to be a very enjoyable beer, great flavors and a fairly smooth for a bourbon aged beer.

Agreed. Definitely not my favorite of Rev's BA offerings.

Revolution's beers just started hitting Ohio shelves yesterday. I picked up some Anti Hero IPA and Eugene Porter, but haven't tried them yet. There were other options from them on shelves too.

Rejoice! You made the right choices for your first purchase. Definitely the better of their standard offerings.
