If it sits on the shelf for a year does it become VSOJ? Or NotVSOJ?

Picked up a 4-pack of SJ from Grand yesterday; my wallet (and probably my waistline) is pretty relieved that this "year's" Deep Woods releases are over, but it was a hell of a ride, and I'm sorry to see them go.

I was excited the moment I heard Rev was going to start doing "events," and even more pumped when I heard they were canning. The whole thing has turned out to be everything I hoped, and more. I was a huge GI/BCBS fanboy up to this point, but I can honestly say that I've probably converted; Rev's barrel program and events are just that good.

Kudos to everyone at Rev (especially @Veliksta1 for his constant contributions both to this thread and to our hype levels) for really upping the city's BA game!

 

I'm pretty sure Rev did events for Deths Tar in the past. I remember, I think two years ago now, going after work for the release and they had a bunch of stuff on tap and free food.

EDIT - I'm with you by the way, the pricing for BCBS has also gotten out of hand, which really has solidified Rev has my favorite BA program in the city. BCBS will always have a special place in my heart, and I'll always work to have every release, but Rev kicked GI's ass this year.

 

Yeah, I think 2 years ago was when it started (I meant this as a retrospective, I didn't mean to imply this past year or the year before was first). I think the first event was Deth's and Cafe, and it was still bottled. Then the next year was cans.

And yeah, I still love BCBS, but the "premier" BA event for me is now over on Kedzie.

 

Rev has had some fun pre 2017 events. The two that stand out to me we're the 5th anniversary party at the Riv with Andrew WK, and the batch 1000 event was fun

I still think there should be a variety pack of the Deep Wood Series....

I'd love these for the variants I don't want 4 packs of, but would like to try and/or have at home once.

As long as it doesn't significantly cut into single-type packs, of course.

 

How about the 18 packs are distro only and they stop doing distro of the single-type 4 packs? They would in effect be sought after sampler packs for people who don't make it to the taproom

 

You're giving me too many variables to deal with at work. This is where I turn my brain off

 

Should've known you guys would want as much deep wood as possible

 

Maybe we should splinter off this discussion to a new sub-forum branch. Or barrel forward into a forest-like maze of distributed speculation (which I would deeply prefer).

Just cleared it, you are good. Also doing Boss Jacket & Deth by Currants today. The other variants are all tapped out for now.

 

Will this be at the taproom only or also at the brewpub? Thanks!
