Ghost Ride is an excellent summer beer. Northeast Hero is right up there with M-43 as the best regularly distributed NEIPA.

Thanks! Definitely my two favorites at the moment, with six-packs of Ghost Ride just disappearing in 2 days...

9 days later and my second can of Northeast Hero is delightful. Don't know if it was a bad can, glass, or just needed time but this beer is now 1 for 2 with me.

Wrong thread, but...Binny's now has barrel aged Jackie O's stouts! And some barrel aged wild ales. And a barrel aged Quad.

Should arrive at all Chicago stores!!

Does this mean I should expect a Revolution shipment of Deth's Tar and Straightjacket

Just wanted to come in here and give a shout out to @Veliksta1 for Revolution's kind gestures back in April.

As some of you know, one aspect of my work involves endangered bats. There was a 'bat meeting' at the Field Museum in early April, and someone from the conference reached out to Rev to see if they would be willing to donate anything for the silent auction. -And, they did! They donated a tote, tin-tacker, hat, two pint glasses, and a $100 gift card (all as one 'lot'). I was the lucky winner of the silent auction.

Unfortunately, there was a hang-up with the gift card itself, so I didn't have it to purchase anything before I left Chicago. When I reached out to Rev to have the gift card mailed to me, it was seamless and completed quickly.

Big thanks to Rev for their contribution. I only wish that I had the opportunity to visit while in town.

(@Veliksta1 was not involved unless he was the one that responded to my e-mail, but I wanted to tag him since he's front and center for everything Rev on BA.)

Is it safe to conclude you are either The Joker or Sammy Sosa?

I literally drop into caves to work with Bats. I've had a bat Tornado around me while on rope. I'd prefer if you decide between The Joker and Batman.

...Although, my complexion is much closer to Sammy Sosa's now than compared to Sammy Sosa of 15 years ago, so I can see where the question could be coming from...

Hey you are quite welcome. I am involved with donations, but that would have been someone on the team who made it happen for you. I'll share the kind words with them.

Also, in case anyone hasn't seen this yet, we're doing 5 local preview parties if you want to taste the summer barleywines before you line up. Unfortunately timing wouldn't allow us to do them outside Chicagoland this time, but those are expected to return again come October. Here are the locations: https://revbrew.com/summer-jacket

Unfortunately, I'll have to sit this one out tomorrow. Buddy of mine who might go tomorrow said he just read this post:

PSA regarding Friday's Weather Conditions ☀️☀️☀️ It's expected to reach 99 degrees with extreme humidity and your safety is our #1 priority. Please keep yourself safe by not lining up excessively early or bottle sharing before the event. It's unnecessary this time around. We've got 11, count'em 11, English Barleywines for you on tap inside where it's cool and we're kicking off at 2:00pm, two hours earlier than our past releases. We've taken the following precautions thus far to help keep you safe, cool, and hydrated:

*We're working on a new setup to keep you all inside/under cover, snaking the line in the driveway more so than in the past, and inside where we will have the AC blasting. Also, we've rented special fans for the driveway to keep cool air circulating.

*Bottled water and Fla-Vor-Ice will be on-hand and iced water coolers will be set up for you to refill your water bottles.

*There will be a team working on crowd control to ensure the line is orderly, as 2:00pm approaches. They'll be doing everything possible to keep everyone out of the sun as best we can.

*Doug is hoping to pour samples of Strawberry Jacket for you all, but only if you follow our request to avoid bottle sharing and stay hydrated instead.

We missed these days and couldn't wait until October, but are facing a new adversary with the sun. Please do us a favor and be patient, orderly, and friendly to your neighbors, which you've always been amazing at. We're doing everything we can to make it a smooth experience. Looking forward to seeing you all!

    Cheers,

    The Rev Brew Crew

Kuds to Revolution for just being on top of everything. If I were building the perfect brewery from different ones out there I'd pull in their events organization decision makers. This is going above and beyond worrying about possible liabilities, it's just caring about your customers and providing a top notch experience. You hear about the epic fail releases at other places and Rev is the exact opposite. It makes me want to patronize their business more.

BTW I was sad to see the neckbeard wet t-shirt contest didn't make the cut as a way of keeping the lines cool and entertained.

At 100 degrees, there's gonna be wet neckbeard tshirts whether sanctioned or not.

Just so happen to be in Chicago this weekend during the Midlife release. Because of the heat and limited time in the city, I won't be doing the whole #linelife thing, but I was wondering if this is something that sells out immediately or if I stop by around 3 or 4 there is a chance of snagging some cans. Either way, I'll be stopping by for some pours. Just wondering if I should prioritize timing...

Its the first time they've done a release for these beers so I'm not sure anyone really knows, but given the limited amount, I'd anticipate they will move briskly (except the regular straight jacket that should be easy to get that evening).

I tried honey barley wine and strawberry barley wine. Revolution you guys are just killing it. The honey barley wine is slightly better, but the strawberry barley wine is way better than I expected it to be & really unique. Great beer is being released tomorrow @ revolution. Wish that I could make it…

I had both tonight. I liked the honey barleywine better. The strawberry was not very well integrated into the base. It was a very pleasant strawberry flavor though. They should try the strawberry with a stout.

I had both last night and enjoyed the Strawberry more. For the hot weather, it was just more refreshing, and I thought the strawberry was well utilized with the base BW. Honey was just richer and sweeter...more luxurious, but not what I wanted on 90+ degree day.

It was awesome to chat with Marty some as well at the event and they had awesome glass and coaster giveaways...which I needed like a hole in the head, but still grabbed them.
