Revolution Brewing (2019)

I climbed on the soapbox here in the past to piss and moan how the Deep Woods Series isn't readily available here in Cincinnati anymore, so I thought I'd come back to give some praise. I went to a preview party tonight here in town at White Oak Marathon (Yes, a gas station. Only in Ohio.) featuring Straight Jacket and Boss Ryeway. Wow, what a nice night I had: the beers were amazing, the Rev rep was great, and I got an awesome Deep Woods tumbler. Oh yeah, and all the beers were available for crowler fill. Score!

Thanks Revolution! This will tide me over til you're able to take care of us down here again in the future.

 

What do people think… Will the hazardous winter weather warning \ blizzard for Chicagoland area make the crowd smaller today at Revolution release?

 

Doubtful. It's not even supposed to really start until 3 or 4pm. Maybe if it started snowing at like 11am or noon it might have an effect, but I doubt it otherwise.

 

Yeah we'll see. 750 max allotments of Boss, right? As a suburb guy, I'm 50/50 because I don't want to get caught in Friday traffic/snow on the way home from Rev.

 

Yeah, based on the forecast, it's not the trip to which is necessarily concerning for those coming into the city, it's the trip back.

 

I've heard it's supposed to start in half an hour and it's going to snow 2 plus inches per hour and all the bread, eggs, and milk in Chicago are already sold out. Plus Boss Ryeway isn't even that good. And Straight Jacket, as we all know, is meh at best. And the draft only options have too much going on and are a complete mess.

I think I covered everything...

 

Does anyone know if the keg yesterday at Monk's Pub was VSOJ or DB VSOJ? Their menu said DB but everything else said regular VSOJ. Bartender at the time had no idea.

 

The more risk in obtaining a beer, the higher the black market resale value. Flippers will be out in full force.

But double the opportunity for likes and increased beer karma. Maybe we should start a thread for each individual deep woods beer

 

But what's the typo: the name or the abv?

 

Just a guess but because all of the other marketing surrounding the event last night said only VSOJ and untappd doesn’t even show a DBVSOJ and only a DBVSOJ Rye, I’m going to go with someone at Monk’s freelanced the title of the beer when making the menu since they did match all of the other Abvs to the other kegs.

Welp, I don’t know if I’m just losing the drive or being an “adult” but I’ve decided to pass on waiting due to a lingering cold and a super bad commute back home to the south side. Make sure to layer up your hands and feet guys. Those are the spots that usually get you the worst.

Really sucks too because Boss Ryeway was the one out of the series I really wanted to try. If anyone feels they may be willing to part with a can, please DM me.

 

The other thread will likely fall off the front page soon after the release this weekend.
