Anybody going to Deth Rattle Friday? what time you think peeps will start lining up?
Very low bottle/can counts available for the vintage sale.
Agreed, the main event is meant to be the draft list which has plenty to go around. You might even see a surprise get added later in the afternoon.
If so, I can plan my Friday accordingly!!
‘16 Deth by Plums & DB VSOD crowlers ($40) are on at the Taproom starting at Noon. They were filled last night, so service should be quick.
Deth by plums and DBVSOD were easily the stars of the weekend in my book. Wow on revisiting those. Wow.
As we head into the summer months, we're obviously going to see less big, barrel aged stouts (which is understandable).
I love big stouts year round, and last year I was grateful for Central Waters' barrel aged beers being readily available on shelves well into the summer.
It's a real pleasant turn of events that they've been joined this year by Deth's Tar (Straight Jacket too, for that matter) which is sitting at pretty much every Binny's I stop into...and is available as a single OR 4 pack.
Figures...the one Binny's I visited in the burbs (Elmhurst) didn't have either. And this was close after the SJ release. Anyone know of a better Binny's or other store nearby to visit when I'm in Elmhurst again?
....and Cincinnati got zero cases. The 2nd ever market in the brewery's history. Sorry for beating a dead horse.
I did end up getting a 4 pack of Straight Jacket just across the state line in Lawrenceburg, Indiana (a state which has only received statewide distro for about 2 years). Lucky me! Better than nothing for the season.
I'm pretty bummed that Jackie O's doesn't send their barrel aged stouts to Illinois. What a bunch of jerks!
This sounds like a horrible meat breakfast cereal
Surprised no buzz about Northeast Hero. Especially with them selling cans directly off the line on Thursday.
If you like barrel-aged beers in the Summer, I'd request a vacation day for Friday July 19th.
Hoping the new Rev beer is called "Vacation Day" and I don't actually have to use a vacation day.
Is that the new Deep Woods Series beer that was hinted at a few months ago?
Fixed it for you
I’m scheduled for jury duty that week - would this be considered a hardship?
Crosses fingers for Cocoa Code Switch....
Sounds like the hardship begins on Saturday July 20...
Probably can't tell us what they are, but any hints?
"Deep Woods Series beers"
I'm pretty excited about it - the version I tried in late April was awesome. Nicely balanced for the style... if the version they're caning is anything close to that one, I'll be dinking a LOT of it over the coming weeks!
Dammit! The Mrs is standing up in a wedding that weekend, and it would probably be frowned upon if I skipped that
Maybe I can convince the wife to make a trip out.....she does want to enjoy some lake time with the youngin in the summer time......
...........requested, and the heads up is very much appreciated!!
This might be too much to ask, @Veliksta1 but can we have a hint about starting time? Are we looking at something like the Deep Woods events from the winter, or do I need to start hydrating before dawn?
B there and see for yourself what the buzz is about, but watch out for redheads.
Are they releasing new beers or will it just be a mid-season can release of the previous years Deep Woods stuff?
I'm just trying to figure out how to break this one to my wife. In less than a month I made a whole weekend out of DLD, and just got back from 4 days drinking my way across Denver with my brother. Suppose I could just sit this one out, but that hardly seems reasonable with no FR bottle share in sight for my summer...
If it helps, the 19th is the first day of Pitchfork, so some of you may already have plans.
2pm - 11pm
Okay so it sounds like I at least need to take a half-day.
You need the full day to allow time for lining up ahead of time.
Indeed, should be better than the winter lines for the baby mules.
Not a big NEIPA fan so no Hero yesterday, but brought a six pack of Rosa home yesterday from the Brewpub, unique beer I liked.
Sad that I will likely be in Vegas for the 7/19 event. It's weird drinking heavy stouts in the summer, but several California breweries release stouts in the summer, guess I'm used to stouts = late fall / early winter.
Who said anything about stouts?
