I've been playing 'catch-up' mode with Revolution beers lately, seeing as there are a lot of rave reviews, and I finally got a chance to try Ten Year Beer among a few others that people keep mentioning here. I'd say that was about as good of a barleywine as I've had. The cherry was only a subtle note (even though reviews indicate it was very dominant fresh), as this was big caramel, toffee, big barrel presence + sweetness and a medium-thick mouthfeel. All that and still smooth. Absolutely loved it. I place X in the very top tier of my personal barleywine list with 5-6 others. I don't know who else has some sitting around in their stash, but that beer is drinking perfect right now. I definitely missed out not getting X when it was first released. My car would have probably looked like @VinHalen54.

I have 4 left and was planning to crack one on Thanksgiving, this confirms it!

    RE: The Honey Jacket thoughts.

I felt the original batch of Honey Jacket was WAY too bourbon / booze heavy. However, after about 6 months I found that it settled into a more balanced brew that I really enjoyed. So much so that I should probably add another review to reflect this opinion.

This batch is thankfully (to me) more honey forward and less "hot". However, I bet those that feel it's too sweet will feel the same way I did after 6 months...I anticipate that it settles into a more balanced beer.

This might be the rare Deep Woods beer that should jettison the "enjoy now" directive and double down on "store cold" for best results.

Full disclosure: 6oz of this beer right now is bliss; 12oz might be too much. One idiot's opinion.

His post motivated me to put one in the fridge. It really is excellent. Cold it had a bit of that Ryeway/maple notes to it. Up to temp it's SJ cherry pie filling and just delicious.

Just got back from my Binny’s and Cherry Deth is officially in the wild. I know it’s still available at the brewery, but just noting it for those not wanting to make the trip to Rev.

Yeah, I picked it up from a local hole in the wall liquor store today. The fruit, barrel and stout remind me of drinking an OG Bramble or Backyard. There is some jam to this. This is like old school Bourbon County variant good.

I haven't yet. They're definitely short-staffed right now, so I usually give it a couple weeks until I send an email to make sure they didn't miss em.

Binny's was nice enough to mark it up over brewery sale price to $44.99, a 12.5% increase. Sure, it's worth the $5 to not have to go downtown to get it, and there is distributor cost that needs to be accounted for, but it just seems a bit much. (not knowing at all what the price to the distributor is)
Cafe and Ryeway both get marked up 10% to $32.99 too. But hey, Deth's Tar and Straight Jacket are kept the same, so let's be happy about that!

No, still waiting but it took almost a week and a half from the cafe/maple/deth release to see the points in my account

They updated mine earlier this week, but only included the cans amount and not the $100 crowlers even though it was all one transaction. I figured I'd give it until the end of next week until i reach out.

Think they did the same to me. I had 3 separate orders. I can't identify which one specifically is missing but there's certainly one unaccounted for on my Rewards account.

So I was going through my "collection." One of my remaining VSOJ's has an upside label on it. Is this the Rev equivalent of the Fleer Billy Ripken error card?

Actually the opposite. You’re better off just giving that one to me so I can dispose of it properly. It’s worthless
