Revolution posted this video on IG today which describes the “dry beaning” process used to make cafe deth. I’ll go ahead and assume they made the video in response to my earlier question.

Well after the initial review saying Cafe isn’t as bold as previous years, Marty goes and totally redeems my excitement!

 

I called...on-premise only, no crowlers.

 

For now. Give the corona surge a few days. They may have to go to growlers to get rid of it.

 

Stop making me cheer for corona!!

 

Trying the 19 and 20 Deths Tar in a blind test. They're both very good but very different. One is more dark red fruit/bourbon and the other is more marshmallow/vanilla/oakey. PS the new glass looks super dope and once again the pickup process couldn't have been easier.

 

Curious how others are liking these so far. For me cafe is fantastic this year, huge aroma and flavor. Chocolate, almond, and berries from the coffee, vanilla and a little cinnamon spice from the barrel. Maple is very good, but drinking it after cafe gave it a challenge. Smoky aroma, deep but not overwhelming authentic maple character that really sits with you for a bit.

 

After a short tasting it's pretty clear, 20 is far and away superior to 19. Well done Rev. Didn't think Deths Tar could take another step up like this after 19 was much improved on 18. #FanboyFUPAGod

 

I can’t wait for tomorrow now.

 

Looking forward to finding out which was which.

I'm guessing this year is the dark red fruit/bourbon. Last year is the marshmallow

 

I can tell you I hope ‘20 is the latter you described.

 

20 is the marshmallow/vanilla/oakey one. It's super good. My wife tried one sip and immediately agreed as well. She's an occasional barrel aged stout drinker so it's fun to get her opinion especially in a blind tasting.
Side note I'm on to Cafe right now. #yolo It's real good too. It's definitely way different than Supermassive. I'd liken it to the difference between pour over with a light/medium roast coffee and espresso shot in french press.

 

Anyone know how the proxy process works with Revolution? Im gonna grab a friends order but not sure if I just give them the order # and name when I pull up or email them ahead of time.

 

Just give them the name and show your ID. Assuming your friend put you down as their proxy.
